all very valid points, especially the heroic part... was really looking forward to it however for gunners this skill is a lot better then you give it credit for now you will not be 1 hit KO by everything AR100+ and with blood right on top its a lot more manageable also what is stopping you from going to the other scroll after you get hit to reset the drain speed honestly despite being a skill that can kill you this is a very safe to use skill

If you haven't seen my comment I have a few important things to add that may change your opinion about it, while yes its bad against normal monsters, it goes leaps and bounds fighting afflicteds thanks to bloodblight healing you while berserks going and the kinsect healing powder buffs the hunter back to full hp

@@sinteleon the skill is OP you just have to give it a bit of a thought on how to make it work the way you need it to. you can even counter the sped up drain with some more skill investment. have not tested it but on top of the regular HP maintenance skills you run to in sunbreak the forgotten recovery up and speed were suggested to work with this as well

While Berserk does have a few drawbacks, one thing I can say for certain is this. Berserk CAN counter one shot moves like the Flaming Espinas explosion. So if you are stuck in a corner or didn't notice it about to pop off in time, just switch to Berserk and tank the hit then switch back. Not sure if that was intended, but its what I discovered.

Berserk might be more useful as a defense option instead of offense option going by this data. Like you could just go into blue scroll to wait out monster's big attacks and not worried about carting and then switch to red to heal up any damage taken from the draining health which might be something that goes well with dango shifter and recovery up

@@SleepyPitou Funny you should mention super novas. I was using full chaotic armor with gunlance, plus full guard and guard up and teostra’s nova didnt seem to trigger the increased health drain, so that might be something.

Since the update I've been tinkering with this skill and found that insect glaive can benefit from it a bit more than other weapons thanks to healing powder and vortex, while in berserk you send the buggy to drop powders everywhere do the vortex and poof! Full health again. I was able to repeat this process for about 5 minutes straight against risen kushala and by the time berserk ran out i knocked it out of the super state Edit: just did my first anomaly quest with it and let's just say bloodblight heals you while berserk is activated, making it easier than ever to keep it going about 80% of the hunt

I'm more of a "death by a thousand cuts" IG main, rather than a "boom boom" IG main. That said, taking one of the decos that prevents being knocked midair, the air game benefits from this pretty good I think. I'm imagining a triple aerial into a Berserk Diving Wyvern.

The damage boost is pretty insane, i was running a full basic set (no augments) and a basic WEX2 CritBoost1 talisman on courage hammer and my big bang finisher hit Seething Bazel for 1K damage. Plus you can eat a massive afflicted explosion without taking damage

been running full chaotic for DB, i added blood rite 1 and recovery up 2. I also run super recovery dango instea of fighter dango and use gourme fish and I can go for like 5 min straight in blue scroll. If i take a bad hit you just need to swap scroll for a second to reset the increased drain. But definetly not a skill for every weapon, but I can see DB, IG and Bow using it very well, alsow the bowguns get the ability to take a hit in MR

I’ve made a fun berserk build around blood rite and super armour with the gs and It’s pretty fun and adds some extra challenge because you have to keep hitting broken parts to live and it also makes the anomaly quests quite easy as long as you get bloodblight. This build also uses the new kushala helm and adamant slash for infinite super armour

Exactly. It needs to be used as a quick damage burst where you jump in, pop blue scroll, burst damage, and then scroll swap back out to stop the health drain. It isn't going to be very useful if your weapon can't get a lot of hits in very quickly. Dual Blades, Light Bowgun, and Heavy Bowgun are where I see this most likely being used. Also potentially sword and shield.

5:34, Me and my friend test this "...when you beat the frenzy, well that will give you [Full Heal]....", emphasizing on the full heal. As long as you have at least 1 lvl of [Berserk] skill, you can tank even a monster's Nova by doing nothing but of course blight that comes with it will only hasten the red gauge reducing. Also, now beat the Frenzy will actually give you full health instead of the usually only recover the red portion of the health. I hope the fact that it give you [Full Heal] actually a feature of [Berserk] skill and not a bug on their programming side :'')

It occurs to me that the way to use this set likely isn't "Berserk all day every day" but to use Berserk when fighting the Frenzy from Bloodlust and then swap back after you get the full heal. Swapping between buff states as it were.

Sound to me like in a hunt with a dependable party, like 2-3 dual bladers, with appropriate elemental weapons, and one person with the endemics life, traps, and maybe a light bow gun, you could have a strat of the one disabling the monster, while berserking, arch demon mode dual bladers can have the time to just unleash with everything. Bonus if the bowgunner, has wide range, and/or mushroomancer to do heals and buffs all around.

I think Hammer is definitely one of those weapons that benefits from having infinite stamina all the time. One thing I didn't understand from this video are the ranks of Strife: what does each of them add on top of the previous?

You have 2 states: any red health, and 60% red. Level 1 Strife gives 5% affinity and ele at any red and 10% at 60% Level 2 gives 10% at any, 15% at 60% Level 3 gives 10% aff and 15% ele at any red, and 20% for both at 60%

I figured out the trick to this armor if you get hit immediately switch to red scroll then back to blue as it resets the health drain to slow with kushala blessing recovery up max as well as recovery speed max and I don't have to worry about attacks and eat for super recovery

I feel like from a close-up weapon standpoint yeah this skill is mid, but LONG RANGE? Bowguns, Bow ESPECIALLY bow with infinite stamina is literally perfect for this kind of skill. The whole gameplan of these weapons is to avoid combat, now imagine you get the affinity + Stamina bonuses while just focusing on evading occasionally. It also means if they DO get hit by a stray move or a nuke, they just get back up, swap scrolls, heal, and go back like nothing happened. Multiplayer hunts this is especially good, otherwise it does seem niche and ineffective, but the range weapons should not be ignored in its viability.

Have not tried it yet but it looks like bersrek is gonna be more effective for gunners. Its easy to avoid attacks since you're always at distance so the health bar wont drain faster, its easier to overcome frenzy (specially with piercing ammo), and you can avoid being one shotted since you dont take damage.

I'd say berserk is pretty good with weapons with counters because it eliminates any possible drawback of missing the counter. If you do it right, great, you phase through the attack with no damage at all and do more damage. If you mess up, its ok, you just drain health a bit faster now, but nothing of significance, and unless you are already low you wont cart from that, in wich case you would cart with the hit of the attack anyways

The main issue I have with Berserk is you _have to_ build around it if you're trying to stay in Blue Scroll as long as possible, but by doing so you're sacrificing a lot of damage. That being said, it does open up some interesting doors for bowgun survivability.

So I was messing around with this armor set using Bow. It IS broken lol. The main issue here is if the monster hit you, the drain will speed up and no regen skill can keep up with it. However, you can just switch back to red, then blue again and it will be reset and you are good to go again. It's insane!

Well in some weird way, we can use it defensive way like if you're GS and don't have a time to dodge big 1 shot attack, just switch to blue, tank it and switch back or using bow, since you're glass cannon anyway

Just spitballin, i got a skill idea that might make this work. The name would be Sanguine Armor, it would give you a sort of rocksteady effect when you have red health, but said red health gets depleted immediately when you get hit. This not only could give normal builds some survivability or aggression, but could also make Berserk viable as it would allow you to keep on the aggressive and only worry about the timer since you cant lose that red health normally.

For heavy counter attack weapons or ranged weapons this is absolutely broken. I'd definitely recommend it in solo play with followers but with me using Lance, Luchila HBG and Hinoto Hunting Horn with 1 healing Palico and 1 Para Palamute, I was able to stay in blue scroll vs Furious Rajang the entire hunt. Have to swap to Orange to change areas but you can keep berserk up constantly. The only reason is your drain never goes up unless you take a direct hit. You can also swap out and back in to reset the drain just before fury heals you too.

I have a very nice berserk build based on guts from well berserk and it uses evade window and status trigger along with embolden and agitator and blood rite but it’s very customisable and it’s in its early stages as of now and it uses the golden lunehelm and coil, and chaotic gore magala evyrthing else using the royal order great sword and a talisman with blood rite and flinch free 2, defense boost 2 stun res and evade w 1 due to decorations it deals enormous damage and it’s able to last a very long time in blue scroll berserk and it’s just generally meant to work with both blue and red scroll swap

I could be wrong, but I think that Berserk's health drain might be a cumulative effect per attack. Ie, one attack doesn't progressively drain it faster and faster period (and all subsequent hits don't matter); it simply goes up for every time you get hit ^This is based on the number of times I saw Nargacuga hit you, and also close observation of your health drain (which did seem to speed up after every hit). So maybe it might still have some fair use for those people/weapons who are harder to hit

Ok, a few stray thoughts 1. I'm an Insect Glaive main, with recall kinsect I can heal and dodge, so maybe with that on the blue scroll, I can maintain the boost a bit longer plus with how mobile the Insect Glaive is maybe it could work as a way to hit and run, go in for a few hits, get in get out recall if things get dicey or to get a boost to health before swapping back, boom your done. 2. Defense, your technically invincible, so if you're going to take a large amount of damage or something like that then in theory if damage taken by the attack is greater than the damage taken by swapping, then swapping might be the ticket out. 3. Does swapping reset how fast your health depletes, or do you need to do something to get it back to that initial drain? Also with all those health regeneration effects, could you in theory use that to basically give you more hits before forcing you to swap back? I understand there's still going to be a net loss, but small losses makes for longer up time right? 4. If using Kinsect Recall (or the healing powder kinsect) can maintain uptime, could a highly skilled player maintain the 60% boost? Like not get hit, healing when they need to, basically live off of the blue scroll.

I mean I don't have the armor made myself yet but as soon as I saw the infinite stamina portion I instantly thought of bow. You wouldn't even need stamina surge or constitution at all for management which frees the need for them. I feel like if you can slap bowcharge+ and shot type up into chaotic gores set then you'd be golden.

I read a suggestion to use Berserk/Strife combo whenever the monster is down/immobile/incapacitated. Say trap a monster, pop blue scroll, go ham while the monster is trapped.

Cause usually your play style is staying out of the monster's range of attack and if you get hit cause you missed your dodge or didn't see an attack coming it will just knock you back while keeping you alive for you to get back your distance

I am not build expert etc, but potentially does this help bow? I havnt played bow in rise/sunbreak, but in generations and world, bow uses their stamina heavily and for me, world/iceborne felt that the thing i lacked was infinite stamina. While yes you could shoot in a way to have near neutral stamina use... with infinite stamina you dont need to restrain or slow down. Just a thought, again i dont know bow meta, just if you say crit, element and infinite stam, dual blades and bow come to mind... and bow doesnt need to worry about getting hit as much

In my case I simply took the immortal build they made last time but swapped the arm and waist armor for the Professor Mittens and the Risen Kushala Coil. That with quirios crafting and decorations allowed me to have all of the necessary immortal build skills, still have Embolden, Lvl 5 Defiance, Furious, Intrepid Heart, lvl 3 Power Prolonger, lvl 4 Attack boost, lvl 3 Crit Eye, lvl 3 burst/Chain Crit, lvl 3 Razor Sharp, Spiribird's Call and 1 level of Weakness Exploit. There's a few other skills plus enough to swap certain decorations in for different scenarios. I usually often swap out Spiribird's Call for something else when my petalace is full, or doing areana quests.

This armor set could be perfect for those really good longsword or chargeblade players who can go through an entire hunt without getting hit. But can i ask does the red health depletion reset if you go back to red scroll, because if it does, the set woukd be effective as i said or could be nice for greatsword players who while the monster is asleep once heavily wounded woudl turn it on, true charge slash, for maximum damage. But just a thought.

What about weapons that can block? If you block attacks from the monster will your health still drain faster? If not I could see a shielded weapon making a lot of use out of this

Yeah but. Wouldn't a gourmet fish, the new kusha blessing. Hp regen and hp up skills and divine blessing with a hunting horn with sonic shield and regeneration amongst other buffs not only negate the hp drain but. Also with a cat with the healing bats basically extend that red bar far longer even with the crazy drain so long as you deal some dmg. The bats heal you and with it being red keep you up? I do this with the Deriliction set. Then with the bloodlust from malzeno and the bloodied state you should.....in theory, just be able to vamp the monster for at least twice as long....so long as you hit that zone of homeostasis with you hp. Balancing it like a very dangerous game of push and pull yeah?

You are absolutely right about how Berserk works. It is NOT a means to make yourself unkillable and shouldn't be. It's meant to work with Strife. I run a full Chaotic Gore set on Dual Blades and the amount of elemental damage it lets me do is insane.

I’m thinking lv 2 baserk on a immortal build for a hyper offensive set combining it with redirection in order to reset the timer while eating through an attack

Sounds like a pretty good skill for bows though. infinite stam means you should be able to stay keep dodging all the time and shouldn't be getting hit by the monster and since you normally get 1shotted it also takes care of that issue.

Once you use It for db or bow in my case It becomes the "omg I cant believe they put this on the game"... But i LOOOOOVE IT!

Seems like Berserk really fits Chaotic Gore thematically if nothing else. Constantly in pain, just wanting everything dead. Not caring anymore for its own survival

I feel as though you are missing the biggest contender for this. Heroics. Activating this puts you in a state where you get full bonus from heroics type effects. You have no green health therefore you are very low health for the duration. Unless I am misunderstanding this mechanic, but you can get some nutty attack bonuses with heroics or level 4 Dango Adrenaline

I did test this. Heroics doesnt trigger since you are not actually Low Health. The Red Part IS your current health so Heroics would trigger just like normal at 35% Red HP. Kind of a bummer tbh
