I'd say the rellana one is a bit more versatile. Ranged projectiles, AoE fire that staggers. Fast hits imbued with fire and magic damage and allows for magic or faith spells to be used with it aswell.

The throwing attack i used to cheese the ancient dragon fucker before bayle and he wasnt even able to hit me. The normal attacks on their own do like 2 thousand damage for a jump attack in the shadow realm

I was using Rellana for a while, on a very high level character, and what I found is that the weapon just doesn't have enough poise or poise damage, specially on the ashes of war. It made me swap over to the humble Milady, with the Winged Stance ash of war and a bleed infusion, using the Deflect crystal tear on my physik, and I never looked back. I wish Rellana's L1 when dual wielding was a block to unlock that playstyle.

I’ve never had any luck with mimic tear. Even at level 250+, the mimic simply doesn’t have enough health for me to ever use it. It gets rolled immediately. I almost always use Black Knife Tiche. It stays away from attacks a lot, has the brutal blood knife throw thing, and attacks just enough to distract the enemy at times I really want it. Mimic… has always gotten blown out within like 30 seconds. No matter what build I use.

I havent had a ton of experience with a lot of weapons in the dlc yet but i can definitely say so far the star lined sword (#8 or 9 i believe) is AMAZING. The ash of war does insane damage and youre also extremely evasive and hard to hit while using it. It staggers almost every single normal enemy but does have a tougher time stagger bosses (although definitely not impossible). Its base atack damage is also insane, definitely stronger than any katana in the base game. My build in case anyones curious: I pair this with the nagakiba, horn bow, & carian regal scepter. Armor of your choice but i reccomend the ronin or white reed set. Talismans: shard of alexander, dragoncrest greatshield talisman, claw talisman, and magic scorpion charm.

The only ones in this video that ACTUALLY overpowered and might get nerfed are 1) the shotgun effect of the perfume bottles(this definitely is getting a very well deserved nerf) and 2) the bloodloss on bloodfiends arm. For all the others there are just as good and better weapons in the base game. Also backhand blades have the best moveset in the game for humanoid enemies. They are top 10 for sure.

Honestly I’m not feeling spear of the Impaler at all tbh. I’m finding it very mid. The aow has very little hyper armor, and the second part has underwhelming tracking. The full combo has an animation that locks you into place making it less than safe, and even prevents you from riposting many enemies. The charged r2 being a throw sounds nice, but it does very low damage and costs an unreasonable amount of stamina. You also don’t have a normal charged r2 for posture breaking, which really sucks for a large weapon. It’s flashy, it’s cool, it *can* do a lot of damage, but the drawbacks overcompensate to the point of it being B tier for me.

Help with the Rellana twin blades, do I need to get it twice to dual wield? Or does the one weapon count as both? Because I assumed it was two swords, one for each hand but no matter what my stupid ass does I can not get it to work that way. For some reason I also cant get the fire spin to work, only the magic ash. I feel like I must have my layout messed up somehow. Orginally I thought it was becauae I had a shield on too so I got rid of thar but I'm still only using the magic sword so to say rather than getting to use the fire half. I'm on ps5.

No there’s no confirmation, this is just purely a logical(kinda) guess. And it’s good to note he’s speaking about them as optimal builds which makes nearly everything viable when done correctly…. imo I’d probably just go with the really broken ones getting nerfed such as, thorns spell, Rolling sparks ash Maybe the giant arm/club but probably just the bleed build up Cant really think of much else off the top of my head, that’s outright in its own league only on my 3rd run. But if you’re PvP assume more nerfs for that, possibly.

If you’re referring to the 10% hp it takes off at the beginning, it’s always done that. Do you mean the dot damage afterward? If so then that’s a bug.

Maternal staff with 60int 60arc and impenetrable thorns. Easiest boss killer in the game and it’s looked across entirely 😂 the thing can quite easily make radahn a 45second brawl and that’s without talismans 😊

Bloodfiend leg IS the best. I took it to the base game and enemies that gave me trouble I destroyed 1st try like nothing. And that was on new game+3. I destroyed consort Radahn with the thing. Ridiculous.

Also good to note, everything else mentioned, he spoke about in the most optimal build, which most weapons will be broken if you done correctly. Eg banished halberd can melt radagon and beast with black flame tornado build but in reality it’s garbage in other situations….

I really tried to make it work but found myself swapping back to my death poker build on every boss fight pretty much. They need to buff that weapon for sure.

Rellana’s light greatswords are fun but they really aren’t that strong. The magic slashes do no damage. The weapon arts look cool but really aren’t anything crazy. I’ve used them extensively on a high level character and swapped off of them. A lot of weapons in the dlc are surprisingly pretty bad. Definitely need some balance changes. Obviously some need nerfed badly. More need buffed than nerfed.

FS clearly has a vision for the games they make. And 1shotting bosses with rolling sparks lightning perfume probably isn't how they want their game to be played. That's why nerfs happen in PvE. And rightfully so, someone out there beat the final boss of the DLC in like 13 seconds with the perfume cheese. It's obviously broken.
