Rey Dau doesn't summon the sandtide, he's just adapted to hunt during it and is most common to find when it happens. You can still hunt him outside of the sandtide.

You know given what Hollow said at 10:19 I feel like I've come to the realization that if any Monster Hunter game is going to fully reintroduce underwater combat it's probably going to be the Portable team that does it. They seem like the more out there and experimental team (not to say the Main team isn't also that) and I feel like somehow they could find a way to make underwater combat fun.

Well I wouldn't be so sure, the team working on Wilds is the same one that worked on world, and they said awhile back when working on world they wanted to bring underwater back, but didn't have the time to do so in world. So the Mainline team does want to add it back too. Also like Hollow said, it would be nice to see underwater in the expansion

I think the Portable team might be great as a proving ground for the next gen if they do it for the next portable game we're probably gonna get in the next 3-4 years.

Although I do think you shouldn't fully discount the possibility of the mainline team doing it first. Also I know the next portable game isn't for a few more years, we still have the expansion for Wilds before that would come out anyway, Iceborne came out 21 months after World, and Sunbreak came out 15 months after Rise, I'd expect Wilds is going to be more around 20~ months like Iceborne took, maybe even up to 2 years if they want a little extra development time

Monster hunter has yet again proved to me why it's my favorite game of all time. It feels like the only game I need with hours upon hours. My bestfriend whom passed away during covid would of loved this so much. RIP brother, I'll keep playing this for us. Thank you monster hunter. I'm happy so many new players have joined it just shows how much effort and love they put into this game. I played monster hunter back in their ps2 days. I have seen the community grow so much and I'm proud to be part of it.

They already did fully controllable mounts with the Palamutes in Rise. This is basically just combining the features of the Tail RIders with the Palamute's abilities.

I'm hopeful and rather optimistic that underwater combat will return in the expansion. They've seen how popular Lagiacrus is from the community monster vote, they've seen the excitement for it when they went underwater during the showcase, they got Leviathan body types working on complex terrain as shown by Balahara, they're already taking previous mechanics that didn't quite work and giving them glow-ups in Rise (tenderizing being reworked into wounding, for example). It'd just be foolish for them not to at this point. This feels like the absolutely perfect moment to bring back underwater combat - and all the cool and creative ecology and monster designs that go with it.

While there isn’t water combat now, I think that even as traversal the swimming could be a nice addition. A desert obviously won’t have that as its focus, but maybe other locales will have bigger (non combat of course) water areas where we can swim and collect a bunch of stuff, or pursue a monster from one place to another. This does leave room for an expansion. If they coded swimming and if there will be more water areas, it would be a waste to not have a water DLC

So a quick note about strong hit warnings, i noticed that your health bar will actually flash red when its about to happen (atleast thats what it did in the multiplayer demo at gamescom), its very pleasant and doesnt intrude much.

The demo is gonna be available at PAX West 8/30. When the demo becomes available depends on when during Q1 2025 they release. Capcom earnings call makes it heavily suspected Wilds will release Q1 2025 to fit in Capcom's Fiscal Year.

I still want to know if there is any armor/skill swapping when doing the weapon swap. If not then your secondary weapon will almost certainly be incredibly niche since you would likely only be able to fit in supporting skills for one weapon. Doubly so if you are trying to swap element types because your set may be set up for doing Fire damage and if you swap to an ice weapon it is not going to have any of it's specific boosts.

And the second trailer had a huge Balahara pack. Since monsters can still leave the area they could maybe get replaced by another Doshaguma/Balahara and join the existing pack? Also if multiple of the same creatures can be on the map at once without forming a pack, as seen with Chatacabra, then we could get two Rey Daus

Seeing the on the go cooking outside of just the Well Done Steak looks pretty interesting and detailed by itself...wonder what the in town cooking is gonna be like since that's likely where we'll get the big meals that look like full on feast like in World and Iceborne. @@nawenyxar4378 I doubt they'd only make NPC mounts unique. Plus it was already officially confirmed awhile back that you can customize your Seikret. I think they just didn't implement it into the demo just to keep things moving (don't want people wasting their limited time slots messing with customization). Hell, the Seikret customization may not have even been fully finished when they were putting this demo build together. As far as I'm aware I don't think they've ever bothered to add any preset customization options in the past with demos they've launched. At least certainly none for any of the online demos they've launched in past games (game event versions might've that I don't know about). I highly doubt we have to worry about only being limited to a default design in the full game.

10:23 I mean, it would be kinda logical I think. World was introduced with a forest/tropical environment, then Iceborn was introduced as the opposite : icy environment. Here Wilds is introduced with a desertic environment, and for me the oposit of desertic would be aquatic envronment if it follows that logic

Do you mean customization of the Seikret itself? Or customizing its saddle and such? Cause you can customize the Seikret, in fact in the latest trailer (the Scarlet Forest one) Olivia's Seikret has a stripe pattern (you have to slow down and pause the video to catch it). There's been no word (as far as I know) on being able to change the saddle for the Seikret, but given that some of the NPC's have different saddle designs for theirs and in Rise you could even put outfits on the Cohoot (that weren't DLC) as you unlocked them. I'm sure that will be the case for the Seikret, where you get given new saddle designs from side quests.

I am curious as to how the armor skills are going to work with the secondary weapons because a lot of weapons don't really have skill synergy with other weapons, for example long shelling gun lance wants skills that no other weapon does. I know they said they had a plan for that but a lot of weapons would feel bad with the wrong set of skills and if you try to build for both weapons on 1 set that often wouldn't work.

They sated that each locale has a minimum of 2 large monstesr that form herds. Now, does that mean the scarlet forest only has 1 of thsoe unique to it, becasue we saw doshaguma there too? We don't know. I'm hoping it's 2 unique to each and maybe a third in 1 of or 2 maps and maybe some that go across maps on top of that.

question on the two weapons, the skills on the weapons only are active on the player when they have that weapon equipped right? So if your using your hammer you won't get the +1 speed sharpening from the due blade in your bag correct?

If the weapon weapon has a skill on it then if you swap it with another you won't have it anymore until you swap to it again. Like in World you can have skills on mantles but they're only active when using it

Can you guys talk about focus strike and power clash and if they are repeatable actions

for focus strike: doing enough damage (of any kind) on a monster part will create a wound. u can highlight the wound (or wounds) while in focus mode and use the focus strike move to do a powerful attack that will close the wound/wounds. rinse and repeat. the first time u close a wound on a part it also reward you with a bonus item of that monster. breaking part mechanics still reamain as usual. power clash: a move usable only with weapon that can guard. if u perfect block a specific monster attack u will knock him down.

You can change your weapon on the fly.. But what does that mean for armor Ammo Decorations?? Are we going to have to use armor thats good for both primary and secondary weapons?? Or can we swap armor ..like weapons.. This will limit the use of a secondary weapon.... If i have a charge blade..with guard..offensive guard..focus..and other buffs good for charge blade.. If i swap to insect glaive ..my glave will take a huge hit..because i wont have buffs specific to insect glaive.. This would mean less use of the secondary wespon.. Or you can equip your armor and Decoration with both in mind..which will see you have 2 mid weapons.. Instead of 1 maxxed out weapon.. This is interesting.

My concern with the 2 weapons thing is if you have a good build for say the bow, that may not pair well with the gunlance. So one of your weapons will have a worse or not helpful build, or you have to try and build for both and split the difference.

If it's like, sns and duel blades, that will work better. Just feel like most the time my 2nd weapon is going to be used for a very specific task. Like buffing with the horn, before just using my main weapon.

Wait there were Creator’s Models there?? Were there any new unrevealed ones??? I can see some stuff in the reflections on the glass in the pic of the Shagaru and I can’t quite recognise all of them. I can make out stuff like what looks to be the Brachydios that’s re-releasing next month, but I can’t for the life of me figure out what that reddish thing at the very top is, whether it’s a reflection or an image behind the glass or what. Looks like an arm of some sort reaching out? My first thought was the rage mode Malzeno creator’s model or the enraged Valtrax, but the pose just doesn’t look right to be those. I’m so curious now lol

I didn't really get it, does every weapon has a clash option, or just the ones that you can actually block with in a way? Like DB, bow, HH not really block heavy, do they also have clash or nah? Thanks in advance ✌🏼

My understanding is that if you have a guard, you can trigger a clash So, Dual Blades cannot as an example. Sorry to say, but yeah, that's what the conclusion I came to

Yeah only weapon that can guard have the power clash. The other weapon just don't have it or maybe they have some sort of dogde mechanic
