As a proud member of the DD Mafia, I agree that they are very important. I would argue that from T8 on up, the critical ships (at least in the early part of games) are the radar cruisers. They allow me in a dd to fulfill my missions.

@@RIPPERDD Having said that, radar dds like the Ragnar, Orkan, Black, can (within their range) self radar a cap for a limited amount of time so they are unique among the dds

I’ve been on the fence of getting Ragnar. I like my gunboat DDs but she seems really more suited for competitive play. Only other steel ship I don’t have and really want is Austin and that’s just for the memes. That said I agree DD play has changed so much and is the hardest class to play effectively. Same time I’ve had nothing but ally BBs staying so far back you have no support even when you push it. Hate the meta of today.

I agree that DD play has changed, and when I started to play more try to stay alive more, say last June my overall win rate for DD went up 5%, so far. That is after 13000 random matches. The IFHE play with the Ragnar is interesting, the one thing I have is radio detection, it just helps with DD. I have been running into and play with DD players that are pure evil and will do things where you cannot just guess where the DD will be and be correct most of the time.

IMO on a DD (or light cruiser) RDF is a Must Have.

yes i use to had rdf on ragnar before the nerf and it was disgusting...also still built for DPM, it was a DD hunter killer...thanks for watching and your support!

I have it , it is very strong i use surv expert because i like extra hit points and it has tremendimus fire power.

I think Ragnar is the best ship if you want to be Independent and carry games and thats why I will get it as my next steel Ship.

@@visigoth96 it depends on what playstyle you like. Stalingrad is an amazing ship with the highest cruiser pen and HP, but it gets set back by having BB concealment, and maneuverability, while having cruiser armour layout. I dont think it has enough impact on the game and seems like a bigger easier to hit petro. Always get a bourgogne or raganar first. Grind petro, its more worth it cuz it has 12km radar and stalin doesnt have one. (surprisingly)
