Sigurd was a legendary hero said to have killed a dragon, and Brynhildr was a shieldmaiden and said to be a Valkyrie. The main sagas about them are Völsunga & Nibelungenlied from the Poetic Edda. TLDR: She was kind of a big deal. And as far as the TV series goes she looked gorgeous here, and never nearly as pretty after. Hence the idea that she put a charm/enchantment/spell on Ragnar.

You’d be surprised. Look up Viking skulls. They had pretty good teeth. They did file them however I think. But over the centuries our jaws have gotten smaller and narrower for beauty purposes. And along came the need for braces. Also welcome constant cavities due to unnatural sugar addictions. People in Africa still have beautiful teeth, less money for constant sugars and no need for braces (for the most part).
