I’ve spent the last month trying to learn this song really well. This is my favorite video of ragtime Annie. Lots of great ideas here.

Thanks for the lovely comment, David. I can't really take any credit - the ideas are all from Steve Kaufman. Cheers Derek

So, Del, I stumbled on your vid and heard a new catchy tune I never heard before and saw a guy having fun just rocking the thing. I knew right away I had to tab this out, Then I saw that you picked it out of Steve Kaufman's Parking Lot Vol 1 book. So, I bought the book - best $50 bucks you can spend - and grabbed Steve's tab. Turned out I already had his 4 Hour Workout book with a simpler version of the tune. Then I said, wait a minute, this guy is doing his own thing here, just using the book as the base. So then started embellishing Steve's tab with your moves - still a work in progress but you can see it at JDarks.com "Other Tab". Anyhow, most folks don't know what it takes to get that speed and precision and you did it. Loved it. Thanks for the inspiration! PS - I laugh my ass off when you smirk when you nail the blue notes LOL!

Thanks JDarks, I appreciate it. Just looked at your site - a helluva resource, and you have fine taste. I will be revisiting for sure!

JDarks First, Del you knocked us wannabe’s dead about three rows back with your picking on this tune. You just know there’s a whole group of us scrambling for the tab on this. And a big shout-out-and-much-appreciated to JDarks for his kind sharing of his superb files.

Derek I am sorry, you are the only person who leaves comments on my youtube songs & I realy should have worked out how its done & left you some back sooner Omg how long did it take to learn a piece like this & play it without looking most of the time....I thought it was fabulous & youre all wrapped up warm out in the garage to record it! total dedication & I realy enjoyed it !

Thanks Tina. I spent a year or so working hard on flat-picking, but it's not a style there's much call for round these parts so I let it slip in favour of my self-accompaniment fingerstyle stuff. But I'm happy you enjoyed it - it took 40 days and 40 nights to learn and remember this piece. Cheers Derek

Just ridiculously good, tip my hat sir! Did you record the backing track yourself or is it available somewhere?
