Hi Richard, yeah, I felt stupid as soon as I posted the comment about the code! like I was the only guy among your thousands of fans who noticed that! It was a funny moment, I was laughing and yelling at the screen! At any rate, thanks a million for doing these videos. One thing too, though maybe I'm reading too much into it, is that you seem to imply that you can only break one code in a turn. If you have the numbers correct, you can break both. Thanks for the runthrough, Rahdo! It did make things a bit clearer.

The mission gathering reminds me of yedo, but less thematic. The codebreaker seems too easy to do and a bit of a gimmick. From the box art, this was initially high on my want list, but now that I see that ugly board, and I already have yedo, I might go for city of spies, which I am sure you are also preferring.

I would have gotten yedo especially with the deluxe version they just ran on KS but I didn't like the missions in that game: assassinating and/or kidnapping people. Doesn't sound like a fun thing to want to do in a game.

This is really weird. I keep trying to figure out why I am unable to pull a trigger and order this game. But seeing this video I now understand: it has a really pasted on theme, masquerading as thematic game. Yes there is codecracking and spy items and whatnot, but it is an entirely abstract game with no way to explain rules in a thematic manner. It's similar situation why I supported Trickerion and dropped out of Anachrony. Former is thematic through and through despite being heavy strategy, latter is full of theme that does not really connect well to mechanisms.

The first card that you show is the capital city of my country which is not in the place where they put it on the map. it's like 250 km to the west of that spot and 50 more km south.

the publisher knows this. there was a last minute change before it went to press to make the spots look like pins stuck on the map, and during this change some of the locations got messed up a bit. they're going to fix this in the reprint, but in the meantime, i figure one can just look at it as a real map that someone has put pins in, in a sloppy manner :)

I love your vids so I hope this comes as constructive feedback - In this video you did what you also did in the Roll for the Galaxy video, which is, you spent too much time 2nd guessing and speculating on the consequences of possible moves trying to explain all the "what ifs"... that is important to some extend, but it was just too much - It took 25min just for one round. It would be more productive for the viewer I believe if you managed to go through 2 rounds in those same 25min by ignoring all the scenario hypothesis. Cheers

late in the dev process, they changed the map design to be the little pins pointing to locations instead of the words being at the locations, and there was a miscommunication with the artist, and it got messed up. i guess they're going to be fixing it in the 2nd edition print

Not your error but designer should looked on actual Europe map. Krakow is more on south.
