I just received the 1st edition of this game and look forward to playing it. I love it's clean look and easy to see location's and where everyone's cubes are at. I am torn on also buying this new version. I love the expansion and what they did to make this a two player game, but the components and board seem very busy and maybe challenging to see what's on the board or where people's family tiles or cubes are at. Since you played the game Rahdo, do younfind this to be a challenge or it actually pretty good? Thanks for another awesome video!

irl i found the board very easy to read and keep track of everything. i wouldn't say it's any better or worse than the original board, just different. also, the 2p rules for the new version work just fine with the original version (and the same thing for the slightly tweaked rules to make "impossible actions" not overpowered. so it's just the expansion you're missing with your first edition

I’ve been playing Calimala for several years and love it, and having recently played the new prototype, I found the new board a LOT easier to work with. It really helps that all the spaces for cubes, especially the shipping and land trading spots, are now all lined up with each other. It makes figuring out which battle to pursue next easier because you can more quickly scan the board to see where the majorities are.
