Thanks for this. I've been looking over numerous videos explaining how to play the game and this one was by far the clearest. Especially including the terminology at the end, very helpful

Really liked this video. The format was great and it was clear and concise. Definately do more of these types of videos, they work really well. I think you have a great combintion with Shae and Ryan on the channel.

The “Ryan Teaches; Rahdo/Shae Playthroughs” is an awesome combo. It might save time teaching the game on your Playthroughs, Rahdo & Shae. Awesome Teaching here Ryan - So clear that it makes me want to back this game. More “How to play” please. I’m still intrigued to hear your Final Thoughts about this Richard. I mostly listen to your thoughts as we had a similar game group setup where I usually play with my wife.

sorry, not something i'd be likely to play, and it makes me sad, because ryan's video definitely sold me on the brilliance of the card grid system. shame about all those dudes on a map fighting it out though. BRING ON THE CO-OP EXPANSION, i say! :)

@@rahdo I understand! And I can see the reason why Ryan was the one who handled this preview. But yeah, CO-OP please - those neutral monster miniatures can be the bosses :)

yeah, i wonder why they didn't offere the same option in the new kickstarter. maybe there just weren't enough takers in the original kickstarter to warrant the extra production expense?

Somehow still confused about movement of units. The rule book seems to imply one military token for one move from one controlled province to another and they show an example of 2 side by side provinces. In your video you seem to say 2 things...1 tpken lets you move from any province to any other province as longvas you control all provinces in between but you also show an example where you conquer with 2 troops using 2 tokens (1 each) to move through your provinces but end outside your province in a barbarian controlled tile.
@NightsAroundaTable Жыл бұрын
So movement is one token per unit within provinces you control (and the example in the rulebook could have/should have shown a chain of provinces all controlled by the red player, just to drive the point home that it’s 1 token to move 1 unit anywhere within that whole controlled chain of provinces). But when conquering a province, you have to transport your units OUTSIDE a series of tiles that you control. The rule there is 1 token per unit that leaves your chain of controlled provinces to go take over some some other territory. So Movement is within, while Conquering is without. They’re two different actions, with their own unique cost requirements.

Thegame mechanics I quite like and thanks for the run through. A few negative things that stand out or me which meant i didnt back the KS All that plastic and no minis for the wonders? The graphic design of the cards makes the resources on each ard less clear to me. A pale, single colour area on which the resource icons are displayed would make them much easier to see clearly. This seems to be something of a trend at the moment, graphic design over clarity. When there are a lot of minis on the board it's quite difficult to see whats what. i cant help but think that fewer minis and sets of stackable disks for mutiples of units would aid clarity (but, yes I know , minis sell games)
@Hahahahaaahaahaa4 жыл бұрын
"All that plastic and no minis for the wonders? " There's no way to win on this issue. Look at the divide Tapestry got. But I agree that while there are some really nice graphic choices, there are also some really terrible ones. For me, it's just not a good mix of mechanics though. I'd rather play Through the Ages for a civ game, or a dedicated deck builder, or a dedicated area/resource control game. Ironically too much makes each piece feel less fleshed out. But boy is this video format/script reeeeeally good.
