It looks like a really fun game, but has so many things to remember that I'm not sure if I could make it through a game without making a mistake/forgetting to upkeep something. I really like the idea of upgrading workers/dice and making the kinds of choices in this game.

I just played my copy. It's def really fun and engaging. My main grip would be what you mentioned. Although there is iconography for the effects of the main actions, some other things are not shown on the board. It surprises me they didn't add some player aids inside the box.

Really not that complicated but could really use a player paid.

Nice summary. I pre-ordered this and looking forward to it. I'm right there with you and would think a more interesting variant for the dummy dice would be to indeed have them take the worship spot by perhaps rolling the die and a 1-3 take the spot if not keep them out. Not only that I think it would be even more interesting once the 2nd player is done and the eclipse token moves have one of the dummy dice move as well to make the game even more tighter and interesting rather than keep the dummy dice at the same place the entire first/second/3rd round. It would be more interesting especially the randomness by having the dummy players be in different spots each turn to perhaps be in a spot where you may need to pay more cocoa to use the main action. Either by drawing the tiles much like you would in the second and 3rd or by rolling a die, (1-2 1 die, 3-4 the 2nd, 5-6 the 3rd and then move them by drawing a tile or rolling a die and move them 1-2 1 space, 3-4 2 spaces, 5-6 3 spaces) Just a thought. Thanks for the run-through and thoughts. Sounds like this is right up your alley.

that's a great idea! just roll when placing them to determine whether they go on the main action spot or the worship spot (potentially bumping any other die already there). LIKE IT!

As opposed to a random outcome (which indeed might be more interesting), I think we'll try a variant of simply paying the other player (from the supply) one cocoa for bumping an opponent's worshipping worker.

Ughhhh this was not on my list and now I'm hooked for this one! Rahdo, I didn't find it an issue but the static camera sound is much lower volume than regular. Great video!

yup, sorry about the static cam volume. i didn't realize i'd goofed up till after i'd rendered it! :(

it was not significant for me. At least the quality of sound was clear. Shouldn't be a problem to people.

I love this game but I'm the only Eurogamer I know. And the AI's so complicated, so I just play 2 players, trying to play against my imaginary self. Sad. But fun.

Looks like a decent game but moving dice meeples around the board is kinda lame (for me anyway). Wish they used upgradable wooden meeples instead.
@repeataftermeme756 жыл бұрын
Selling Stuff they can’t, it defeats the purpose that the dice workers have. The pips mean something on the dice in the game. Their numerical value is important in the game. Meeples don’t have six sides let alone room for pips.

So wich one you and your wife like better? this or Tzolk'in?
@rahdo5 жыл бұрын
hard to say, we've played tzolkin a lot more than teotihuacan, plus i'd want to compare it after its expansion comes out (to match against tzolkin with its expansion). at this point, i'd probably say tzolkin, but that's largely because we're more familiar with it and can get it played quicker as a result

It’s a euro, of course it’s not the most appealing. Most euros don’t focus on imagery cuz it’s mostly put together with iconography/symbolism. What images are there are at least fitting to the theme, box cover, and functionality in the game. Games like these are not about aesthetics.
@spitmacabre6 жыл бұрын
@@repeataftermeme75 I'm well aware of that. I am a huge Euro-fan myself and gameplay-wise, this looks very interesting to me. Apart from that, I feel like staring at Excel-tables when looking at the board. Euros don't have to look that functional, there are hundreds of beautiful ones out there. Even Santa Maria or the new Carpe Diem look more appealing than that.
