I commented this a few times over the years. Thank you for actually including the names of the games in the time stamps. So much easier to look up again.

yup, i should keep them secret to force viewers to click on every one of them as it increases "engagement" so that youtube will recommend the video to more people, but i just can't bring myself to do it!

I was a tester on Windmill Valley, I'd say it's one of the most exciting midweight euros i'd ever played. I'd say it's light to mid euro but it's really impressive imo.

13:57 I thought that was the Netherlands! There have been a few games with this theme (windmills)... I remember way back when Seeland came out. That seems like a gem of a game (underrated), but if course I haven't been able to get it to the table - due to the people I play with... But you made a really great - the best - video with the gameplay, Richard! Thank you! 😀 ...Also, more recently, there were Gift of Tulips and Tribes of the Wind - with windmill / tulip themes.

as soon as the words scandinavia came out of my mouth i knew that felt wrong. i think a few seconds later didn't i say netherlands? i don't remember now :)

@rahdo Yep, @14:10, you did say "...Windmills dot the landscape of the Netherlands" 😀

I played Civolution at Essen (Prototype) and loves it. There was no extermination whatsoever in our match at least. But the game is so comolex that I could not look into every detail allthough we played about 3 hours. Loved every minute.

Other than the new Imperium game (I found the original Imperiums too fiddly for my taste), these look like absolute winners. Windmill Valley for instance, has a great designer, publisher, artwork, original mechanisms, etc. Neodreams as well - I can't wait to see the Furnace designer's take on worker placement. I love that cyberpunk doesn't have to look dreary and dark - the Neodreams cards on BGG look absolutely gorgeous. Can't wait to play these!

Happy new year) Thanks for such great present, hope not to disppoint. 2024 maybe my biggest year so far - 6 new releases are coming, including couple of expansions.

Just saw that Jon Cox of Jongetsgames talked about Neodreams as well, and he's over the moon about it - he's played the final game and seen all the final artwork and he says it could be a huge hit (he is a bit biased in that he wrote the rulebook). Anyhow between you and Jon, this has really shot to the top of my list.

what the!?!? where did he get his hands on it!? i gotta go catch up obviously :)

How come? I had no idea the Imperium system spoke to you so much. I was told Horizon has much more complicated nations. I would love to give it a shot but I’m not sure itself the best place to start?

if you go back and watch my final thoughts when i originall covered it, i was having a hard time deciding whether to keep the games or not, because i think they're brilliant but i just didn't want any of the pvp stuff. and now we can swap all that out for trade! so the nice thing is you can play with the less complex civs that came with the game originally but also introduce the trade stuff! :)

the nice thing about a class A motorhome like we have is that our front windows are HUGE so it feels more like we're in a home looking out at the world rather than a car looking out through the front windscreen :)

Why wait till someone sends you a game? Find a FLGS in your travels and just buy a copy.
