I'm living in Oregon but I was born and raised in San Diego. Korn lyrically is a very dark band. Their first 4 to 5 albums were basically artistic fuel for Jonathan Davis to release some of the existential stress he had from having a REALLY shitty childhood. The lyrics for the song Daddy are disturbing that could sound like horrorcore but it comes from a real place with real pain. My top 3 Korn songs (in no order) are: Need To, Somebody Someone, and probably Cameltosis. That third song is a tough call. There are a ton of songs that could be in that place like Faget, Good God, Trash, Daddy, Clown, Embrace, and Make Me Bad.

It is rare for art to influence society. It is common for art to reflect society. Kids have always rebelled, but they were held in check by strong families. Today 50% or more of families are broken and parents don't want any of the blame. Now we would call it the Karen culture, but it didn't just start in the past couple of years.

Awesome video man. Second time watching you. Randomly came up so I’m gonna subscribe. Love korn man. They really got my friends from the rap side of music to get into more rock. Best thing nu metal did was break down barriers between the two communities. I know there were bands that did the mix before but korn really pushed this stuff to the mainstream. Love a good mix of rap and rock. To many good artist out there to be picky.

This was written in a time where young boys would insult each other by trying to "emasculate" one another. Calling people gay and fags was EXTREMELY common, even jokingly. It was a rough time to be brought up as a boy because it basically forced you to say "no no im not like that" but that only reinforces those horrible stereotypes. Whats sad is a lot of guys are still brought up to think this way, but the language specifically isnt the same. So thats why the lyrics are a little harsh to read.
