I remember seeing a poster of Raideen in a toy store in Beverly Hills, CA in 1977. At last, I'm priveleged to watch on YT the very first episode of this classic mecha series from 1975. Raideen has a streamlined, Pharoah-esque design, and is sooo cool! Akira, the protagonist, is a handsome chap, who quickly adapts to controlling the robot. I'm grateful to you for uploading this! (Please translate my remarks.) 😊🤖🤖👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧

Very cool. I never got to see Raideen on TV growing up, but Raideen was my favorite mecha in the Marvel comic book Shogun Warriors. I always knew that the mecha for the comic came from different anime, but never got to see them. I'm enjoying finally getting to see the source show.

Same here. I had those Marvel Comics as well as the plastic tall shogun warriors and small diecast metal toys. They actually did show the cartoons with English subtitles from what I hear. But as far as I know, the US never did get an English dub at the time while other countries did? What's up with that? 46 years later hurray, we finally get to see an English sub of ep1 on KZbin.

Reideen the Brave stands as a cornerstone in the annals of mecha anime, a series that continues to resonate with audiences decades after its initial broadcast. Its blend of epic storytelling, compelling characters, and iconic visuals has solidified its place as a beloved classic. At its core, Reideen is a tale of a boy thrust into a cosmic conflict. Akira Hibiki, a descendant of an ancient civilization, becomes the pilot of the titular giant robot, tasked with defending Earth from the demonic Yoma Empire. The series explores themes of destiny, courage, and the responsibility that comes with immense power. One of the series' greatest strengths is its character development. Akira's journey from a timid boy to a resolute hero is both inspiring and relatable. The supporting cast, including his friends and the enigmatic Dr. Ryu, adds depth and nuance to the narrative. Visually, Reideen is a treat for the eyes. The animation, while dated by today's standards, is still impressive, especially the dynamic action sequences. The robot's design, with its sleek lines and imposing stature, has become iconic in the mecha genre. In my opinion, Reideen the Brave is a timeless masterpiece that continues to captivate audiences with its epic storytelling, compelling characters, and iconic visuals. It's a series that celebrates the power of courage, friendship, and the human spirit in the face of overwhelming adversity
When I was a kid growing up in Brooklyn, New York in the 1970s, there were 2 anime shows I had the privilege to watch. Raideen & G Force, Battle of the Planets. I miss these shows, they were so awesome...

I was ten when I saw that poster; by the way, I just turned 57 a month ago. I never saw Raideen as a kid, so I'm now watching it as an adult. . .Raideen has a warrior's design, and Akira is one cool biker kid! Subtitled is the way it should be, for us vintage anime fans. 💗🤖🇯🇵✌️
