Every single one of these analyses videos of the characters always make me love them more than I did before. And this is no exception.

Raiden reminds me a lot of Sekibioshi from Kengan Ashura. Two juggernauts in their own stories, both crowd favourites, both love the sport they do and hold it to their hearts even in defeat.

Once again a great analysis. Thanks for doing these. Raiden is such an underrated character. From my interpretation I think his dutiful side of personality came from his childhood desire to be accepted and to belong. And that was also the reason he loved sumo ao much - there he was finally able to stand equally with people on the ring and put all of his strength, essentially all of himself, to it. This unfortunately didn't come to last as he was found himself being too strong yet again. And his fear of not being accepted and not belonging stopped him from enjoying sumo after this. To me his introductory scene, where he sleeps surrounded by food and women, it feels almost empty. Like he surrounds himself with distractions not aware what he really needs- is to do sumo again. To finally be accepted for his strength- for who he is. And in round 5, he finally had a chance to fulfill himself in that way. He put everything he had into battle, and wasn't feared by nor his opponent, nor the audience. He was finally accepted by everyone. And even though his death would've meant humanity was one step closer to bing destroyed and he has failed his duty as a human representative and one of its saviours - he still died without regrets, with a big smile on his face, finally fulfilled.

@@SephTheSin Shiva I wish was fleshed out a bit more. But it felt like we knew Raiden. As corny as it used to be, I hope we get a ending with characters brought back 😂

This goes for a lot of characters, especially gods, but I think raiden would’ve won had he gone all out from the start. By the time shiva caught on fire, raiden moves stoped hitting him. The “four” moves that he was barred from using were nullified by shiva’s speed and mobility

And there are some people who dare to compare Round 5 to Round 10, they never will be, they will never be! The strongest Rikishi and the Destroyer remain unmatched...!

Round 5 has probably the best pacing of any fight, two equally amazing characters and excellent storytelling, I do like R10 a lot but it ain't holding a candle to the Round of Passion
