Raiders FIRE General Manager Tom Telesco after one season

The only reason I see this happening is because they want a head coach and general manager on the same page and footing. Another interesting note, Ben Johnson may be the target at head coach for the Raiders, as his group previously expressed how he would like a general manager he’s comfortable with.

There’s more than one reason. It might also be because they were brought in individually and they didn’t look comfortable at the introductory press conference. Also he completely dropped the ball on free agency and the draft at not moving up to get one of many qb’s available last draft. I really don't understand this. His top 3 draft picks all became starters, ranging from pretty good (Glaze/Powers-Johnson) to future HOF'r (Bowers) and he did a good job of filling holes as the injuries piled up. I thought he'd get at least another year, but apparently Tom Brady is now our proxy head coach and GM.

Telesco had a horrible free Agency. He took the offense that got JMD fired and made it worse. The QB room was bad and he brought in Minshew. RB room had a Top 3 RB and he got rid of JJ and brought in Madison. RB room became the worst in the league. Not all his fault but having 6 QBs in 2 years. There goes a top 3 receiver. In a QB driven league his solution to the most glaring weakness(QB) last season. Was to bring in a backup in Minshew and bring in a UDFA in Bradley. Leaving us with the Worst QB room in the league. AP had 5 QBs in 1 1/2 years. None of which was his choice from Jimmy G to AOC. When we all knew we needed a QB since we got rid of Carr. Bowers fell to him he didn't have to move up or anything. Drafting 2 Oline when you need a QB is a rebuild strategy. Not a win now mentality. That was the disconnect and imo AP got caught up in it. He wanted to move up and get Penix. Telesco said No in the 1st round. He wanted a QB in the 2nd, Telesco said no again. Clearly Telesco was on a different page than Marc and AP. I'm trying to figure out how they didnt see what he was doing.

telesco has stunk it up for years, multiple rosters with yadda yadda pro bowlers and he got a 6 win season, and a 4 win season respectively. who cares about brock “i can’t block” bowers? he broke all the rookie TE records for receiving and what was the raiders record as a result? 4-13. we didn’t need a frickin TE, we had 8 of them on our roster already! we needed to move up and get a quarterback. pierce said we wanted to establish the run, long before the draft happened. and right after that statement, he said we’re going without a fullback this year. so what did we do? we tried to block with our rookie record TE and he got pushed around. i wonder if we would have lost every game without Bowers being on the team? JPJ is a dirty player cuz he lacks ability. dj glaze is…woof. i will say that it’s ironic and beautiful that telesco got fired from the chargers after losing to the raiders in 2023, and he got fired by the raiders after losing to the chargers this year! gosh this is good!

It really doesn’t matter if they come in together. What matters, is if the GM and HC can work closely together. Ben Johnson has worked in disfunctional organizations and also worked the last four years with one of the best organizations in the NFL. He has worked with Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes and has seen how they collaborate. And that is what Ben Johnson wants.

Tom is good in the first 2 rounds. After that though it’s bad and you need to hit on some later round players. Additionally, he’s not good with free agency or depth signings. The chargers depth was always awful and the star free agents mostly underperformed. Oh, he also sucks at hiring head coaches. Is it fair to fire him one season in? No. Are the raiders better for it? Yes. Trust chargers experience.

Thank goodness! telesco stunk. i called my raiders premium service team member twice this season to let them know how much i could not believe we went with telesco considering everything we knew about him, and the results of his work which led to a 4-13 record. the response was muted, and now telesco is gone. i now point my finger at Sandra Douglass Morgan. if her seat isn’t hot, im going to press the call button for my premium service member again. Sandra, you better make a commitment to the actual football aspects of the team, or im calling for your job!
