Thanks for posting these. If it wasn't for youtube and roku apps, I'd be stuck watching the same 20 or so westerns regular tv keeps showing over and over.

As a youth, my bro and I watched a lot of old westerns (30's, 40's, 50's). Yet, I don't remember watching JMB westerns, although we may have. But, recently, I started watching them, and I'm enjoying myself. I watch one every couple days. Man, there are a lot of them. That's great! I do remember that I saw him, in his later years, in a comedy western, as a sheriff.

WOW! That in-color Universal opening had me confused. I was born in 1941, grew up seeing these movies and they were not in color. But it then went to B&W. Anybody else remember Tom Mix? Some people blessed the railroad and some people cursed it. Proves that you can't satisfy all the people all the time.

Gil had it right in the beginning. Considering events since March 2020, people like Rocky, although he had good intentions, helper paved the road to hell we're on. Rocky was a dupe and so are many of us.

Almost all of Universal's wartime Bs used recycled music. I've even heard cues from BRIDE and SON OF FRANKENSTEIN in other JMB pictures.

"The Black Rider" is too much like "The Durango Kid"~ wonders who copied who? Also- fun to see Tex Ritter and Johnny Mack Brown together. Who supplanted whom as the reigning western star?

Imagine what America would be like without the US government (or its agents) having the power of eminent domain. We would not be able to take a train coast to coast. We would not be able to drive all over the country. The railroad and those that built our highways and freeways had to rely on the courts when individual landowners refused to sell right of ways.
