One of the people being approached by Indy to secure the ark is played by William Hootkins, who played Jek Porkins in Star Wars. Also, American Graffiti was released in 1973, not 1971.

Belloc is wearing the garments of the High Priest as described in the book of Exodus, which is part of the details of the Tabernacle, which also includes the ark itself. The movie does a decent job of depicting both.

It's crazy how it all worked. Pre-production probably did commence in 1979 as Harrison Ford was filming Empire Strikes Back. As we were watching Raiders in the cinema Ford was probably trying to punch Ridley Scott on the nose and growing his hair back for Jedi as we watched Blade Runner...

So when Jack is aboard his ship, in the background one of the pirates is wearing blue jeans 👖, tennis shoes and a t-shirt

Nice break down! one correction, the bodies on the other side of the wall Indy crashed into with the statue, were supposed to be the slaves that made the tomb. Burried so the location could be kept secret... Or so I read years ago. My data might have been revised.

You could also have mentioned that a majority of the snakes in the Well of Souls actually werent snakes but rather legless lizards. One of the best ways you can tell if its a snake or a legless lizard is if you witness it blink it is a lizard (snakes don't blink).

Two comments about the headpiece to the staff of Ra. First, they say on one side that the staff is six qadam high. The word "qadam" is Arabic for foot. Then, on the back, it said "take back one qadam to honor the Hebrew God." That means the staff should be five feet long. The staff they use is actually several feet.
@CoCotheTurtle

If the first side of the medallion comes with a warning that it is not to be disturbed, why would they include the details on the back that would allow it to be disturbed?
@RussellKurtz-eu6yw
@RussellKurtz-eu6yw Жыл бұрын
@@CoCotheTurtle My understanding of this was that the information in the center was a warning not to disturb the Ark, then around the outside it said how long the staff was, and the other side had the inscription to "take back one qadam." I didn't think it through better than that. Also, the staff is supposed be be attached to the headpiece, even if you are not going to the map room. But it really doesn't make sense to have a warning on the headpiece...
