The best line in BR2049 is a line NOT spoken: when Deckard asks K, at the end, "Who am I to you?", the unspoken answer from K (who merely smiled) that came to mind was "The father I never had".

People don’t even talk about the amazing work he did in the assassination of Jesse James by the coward Robert ford. He absolutely should have won an Oscar for it.

Awesome episode! I’ll be honest, I’ve never really been the biggest fan of the original Blade Runner😬. Don’t get me wrong as much as I love Ridley Scott as a filmmaker and understand the influence that the original Blade Runner has on the Sci-Fi genre, it’s never been a film that I have been able to connect with emotionally. So the first time I watched Blade Runner 2049 I didn’t really have any expectations. But I was so happy to be proven wrong. Not only is Blade Runner 2049 one of the greatest sequels I’ve personally ever seen, but I think it perfectly expands on what Ridley Scott did with the original film. If anything, Blade Runner 2049 actually makes me appreciate the original film even more!

Small point, but one of the flaws of the original Blade Runner cars was a lack of a suspension. They bounced over the ground unconvincingly. In 2049, they had very sophisticated suspension systems. Budget makes a difference.

I know that Ridley Scott thinks that Deckard was a replicant, but Harrison Ford doesn't, and quite a lot of other people involved in that movie don't think so either. And I think Ridley Scott's idea is kind of missing the forest for the trees, with all due respect. The film isn't anywhere near as powerful if Deckard is a replicant. It might be nifty as a little twist, but it seems like a twist for the sake of one. The story has more meaning and works so much better if Deckard is a human who has squandered and lost much of his humanity, but who is able to find it again through his interactions with these non-humans whose obvious humanity is being actively ignored and denied. His journey to regain his own humanity hinges upon him having the empathy to see the humanity (and personhood!) in others, even non-humans. And this is also a significant theme in the source material. The idea of empathy is integral to the novel's themes, and you can still see it in the film. So while I respect Ridley Scott's opinion about Deckard, I think he's dead wrong about it. And really, it's the film itself doesn't support it. Except for that insert of a unicorn from an outtake from Legend, there's nothing else in the film that builds towards it. It's also the most obvious idea a science fiction fan would have watching the movie. Ridley Scott directed the film, yes, but he's released it now, and it's no longer just his. It belongs to us, and I'm glad that the sequel did not say yes or no in regards to Deckard being human or not.

You guys made me re watch this because of this review. Now I’m going to have to re watch it again because of your praise of Luv which I was my least favorite character. Didn’t get how she could dominate K with ease, couldn’t get over why he had so much trouble with her when he dominated Drax in the beginning. But agreed great movie and definitely better for me on the re watch.

Hey dude it's just a quick side now when you're talking about the replicants feeling pain, if you think about it in the first blade runner he dips his hand in that freezing nitrogen water without any problem and only looks curious at it when that should be excruciatingly painful. Same with Roy batty when he sticks the nails through his hands he doesn't really went and pain or anything. I would disagree they do not feel pain

Great supporting characters: Luv, Joi, Joshi, Sapper, Mariette, Coco, the File Clerk, Stelline, Doc Badger and Deckard's Dog MVP: Dennis and Roger Best Actor: Sylvia Hoeks (Luv) Best Shot: The silhouette of K in the orange dust, of course Best wardrobe: Joi's yellow raincoat Best scene: Wallace replicant being born from a plastic bag to the time she was killed. (Not because of Niander but because of the feel of the scene and the replicant actress' performance) Best line: GOD... DAMMIT! Does Joi love K? As much as Deckard loves Rachael Female Characters: But females are leading the rebellion, looks like. Wooden Horse: Great way for Doc Badger expo scene Action Scene: Sapper scene Luv: When she cries when she kills Investigating: K's instincts is probably a feature built in. That's why Joshi trusts him. Deckard and Rachael: When Deckard corrects Niander about Rachael's eye color. Gosling's Acting: Perfect for the job Wallace and Deckard: Still gave some more father and son dynamic than Han and Ben nor Indy and Mutt. Ending: Great ending In case you don't know, there are 3 anime prequels of 2049 (not Black Lotus). I think they are on KZbin. Thanks
