Rail luxury departs Bo'ness

This was the early morning departure of the Belmond Royal Scotsman luxury train from the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway hauled by Type, 4 Class 47 CoCo locomotive, No.47643 to the Manuel platform adjacent to the Edinburgh/Glasgow main line. The train was then picked up by Belmond Royal Scotsman liveried class 66 locomotives GBRf 66743 and 66746, then departs Manuel for the mainline for the start of the Royal Scotsman programed tours.The Class 47643 then returns to Bo'ness special thanks to Neil, and Lindsay for the 47 cab ride, also on this video on the same morning, Thursday April 12 2018 a controlled explosion at the Longannet Power Station in Fife that I filmed from Victoria Park, Bo'ness where there are great open views to the north across the Firth of Forth to Fife.

I travelled with my parents and sister Carol on this line on the 1950's when we lived in Deanfield Place in Bo'ness. This brings back happy memories. Thank you to everyone involved in reopening the line . If you make another video please put more voices. It would be lovely to hear local people speaking. Well done everyone. Great example of the spirit of Bo'nessians and all railway enthusiasts. No doubt a lot of hard work.

Fabulous video,Lovely Carriages thought at least a steam loco would pull these or a classic Diesel loco ,Nothing against the next Gen of locomotives but wow two Class 66s ,Some sound they make , last time I saw a locomotive checking out near the Edinburgh Glasgow line was on Saturday 28 of May when Bo'ness hosted a Summer Diesel Gala day from Friday to Sunday ,It was a Colas Class 70 Diesel freight locomotive,A couple of Powerful beasts visitors great to see the Railfreight one also for Saturday and Sunday when that left about 5ish ,A Great day out and worth it also for my Two day Rover Tickets .

What was the point of this trip? No passengers when there some decent coaches. Not usual sprinter you see on this line. speed appeared very slow from Bo’ness on first part of run.

When I was a signalman I put the dutchess on the down fast at Kirkham North Junction on the way to Blackpool it flew through like a dragon

Yes a wash job on all loco's except steam seems to be in order here in the states. Most look like the last time they were clean is when the were new:)
