20:58 Lol, we'll be supporting signals in the corner in Update 7, live next week on Jul 27
@denispavela69322 жыл бұрын
I've done this, you can double up on sensors, however the routing sensor cannot have the actual station in it's routing table, and it cannot have a default platform to route, the only instructions it has is all other stations that are accessed through the platform, and it does work in that case.
@danielberger13782 жыл бұрын
4:18 Based on your current network at this point, you actually DON'T need that X crossover, since all (north-)eastbound traffic would go through platform 4 at Queen Street.
@giulianogiunta92502 жыл бұрын
At Springburn you can place a routing sensor on the auto block and set it to direct the Springburn trains to platform 2, others on platform 1. With this solution commuters to queen street and Ashville will continue normally. You can also connect platform 2 with the tunnel to queen street 5, depending to the lines you will create
@JBobjork2 жыл бұрын
Don't you need a signal before the switch to the tunnel to Queens Street? The routing sensor as well as the Arrival sensors are bound to a signal and routes from that signal, not before it (plus the signal at springburn is on auto towards the next signal)
@mastermatte092 жыл бұрын
So he can also remove the signal just before the tunnel
@tomheadington47622 жыл бұрын
In the one way track after Queen Street, can you put a tunnel underneath the current track?
@anieldevans80562 жыл бұрын
Surely on the Springburn Via track you could remove the routing sensor and send all traffic to the station and then put a departure sensor on Springburn plat. 1 that sends any traffic for queens street, etc to the next block?
@nightcat54432 жыл бұрын
no you cant, a train passing the arrival sensor for Springburn wont trigger its default platform unless it actually wants to stop at Springburn. So a passing train that just wants to get to Queens wont trigger the arrival sensor of Springburn and therefore be stuck. You can however have the routing sensor send that train with destination queens to Platform 1 of Springburn and then use a departure sensor on platform 1 to send trains to queens to the next piece of track

I like your forward planning style. Build for the future. It's not so important in a game that has no penalty for deletion but I do like the way you plan for the future in advance!

adding a coach yard south of springburn might fit

Maybe setting the routing sensor at 31:23 for trains to queen street and ashfield to go to platform 1

With the track that goes to the tunnel outside of Queen Street, since you’ve moved the entrance one square down you can put an auto signal behind a track that splits off into three (one to the tunnel; QS1, one to QS4+5 and one to Ashfield) and then have your sensors control the singular auto signal :)
@danielsimko2 жыл бұрын
What if u switch up the two sensors btw queen st and springburn? They would both drive the same signal so the arrival sensor is triggered first, setting the correct platform for the train if its destination is queen st. If not the sensor does not set the signal, but then the train reaches the routing signal which is set to send traffic going east down the tunnel (to platform 1 - queen st.), westbound to the left, while traffic to queen street is left blank as the default route for the switch. This way i think the sensors do not intervene, even tho theyre driving the same signal, right? Also the auto signal there has to be before the branch off to the tunnel in order to switch the tracks.
@danielberger13782 жыл бұрын
I had the same idea regarding the sensors.

You can place araivle sencer befor the block and conet the signal to aravel in Glasgow
@dacoz2 жыл бұрын
use glasgow 3 and 4 for future outbound through traffic, 5 and 6 can be through inbound, and 7 a terminus
@TuntematonSika2 жыл бұрын
What if you flip the sensors around after Springburn? First the train passes the arrival sensor to queens street so it can route to an appropriate station, then it passes the routing sensor if it needs to go to Ashfield+Glasgow Central instead. That should avoid the command issues for the Auto signal.
@kousthubanand71882 жыл бұрын
To be honest, to avoid the 'space' issue, they could have allowed tunnels to be built through the 'walls' but could have made them costlier(as in more expensive+ consuming a red or couple green tokens) if you wanted to go through 'walls'🤔

The more I watch you play this game, the less I am enthralled with it. The most difficult part of the game is managing space between stations, which is never a problem on real railroads. I understand this is part of the challenge, but even the ability to put sensors and signals on the same piece of track would help immensely. I still love your series, but I don't think this exact game will be something that I'll be buying. If they come out with a version that has more space between stations, I'll definitely look into it. Thumbs up on the video series, thumbs down on the game.

I feel exactly the same way. It also seems like a giant tedium to earn the money and colored bits to buy stuff and upgrade. I'm not about to sink dozens of hours into a game like this, so it's a pass for me too.

auto sensors never override they only add to cue. something it took me too long to learn. (unless you know better in which case ignore my comment)
@culol38702 жыл бұрын
could you go vertical to connect all the platforms of glasgow central or do you not have enough space?
@Kai_Chow232 жыл бұрын
A bit late, but I was thinking that the swich before the bridge was kinda redundant, you wouldn't of needed to mess with the sensors if you moved the original signal back a square. It would of slowed trains down a bit but the management would of been much easier. At least in my opinion
@MrAndy16752 жыл бұрын
thank you for the series i enjoy it
@brunoais2 жыл бұрын
31:28 It won't work. Have you tried having an empty entry? As in, in the routing sensor putting an entry for a station and an empty destination (not filling the destination). Would that work? Otherwise, it would only work if the default is never filled in... Which is a bommer!!!
@kmohan09172 жыл бұрын
you've still got to speed upgrade the glasgow tunnel

Hey Squirrel, I'm having trouble getting intercity trains to succesfully pass through undesignated stations with the advanced arrival sensors, any chance you can please address this in a future episode?
@LucasL5122 жыл бұрын
*Please* just pause the game when explaining stuff, and/or doublecheck the list... Also I think if you delete the 'others to:' sensor option for the routing sensor near Springburn, the arrival sensor is basically taking that function, and it should work
@tacsko872 жыл бұрын
Your arrival for the queens street tunnel is not working, because you need a szignál before the junction to the tunnel...

Squirrel makes it look fairly easy as usual ...and then there's me, unable to stop messing up (crashes, routed the wrong way, etc.) long enough to get enough dosh together to even afford the automation upgrades. I am the absolute worst player in this game.
