Im a bit late catching this one Tim , love the factoids and chat 😊 The ferry did look like it needed updating , and a bit 'smokey' at the end ! Keep them coming Tim , love your trips ! 👏 Great value at £20 return for the entire trip !

A great trip to sunny Brodick! Aye that Arran ferry seems to be crammed all the time, I hadn't realised before that even foot passenger space runs out frequently, a popular wee island eh!
@Timstravels015 ай бұрын
Incredibly popular! It was interesting speaking to some residents about their thoughts on the ferry. It’s one thing for a tourist like me to have a fun day out but I suspect it’s a different story for local and businesses etc. Still, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment mate.

Somewhere I didn't get when I stayed in Largs last year. Come to that, I didn't even get over to Great Cumbrae. But I did take the train into Central and thoroughly enjoyed the trip there and back. You're a true Stoic, Tim. Sitting there in audible and visible rain as if nothing was happening. Understatement at its very best. I'm looking to seeing Brodick next.

You’re very kind, of course it serves me right for not taking a coat! @Timstravels01 Also not sure on total population but Dorking, Dorking West and Dorking Deepdene could be a contender for smallest town with 3 stations. And you have Upper and Lower Tyndrum for smallest settlement with more than 1 station?
@JohnnyHooverTravels5 ай бұрын
Love the question about the three stations town, and no, I have no idea! Think the rail/sail ticket thing must just be a glitch. In the same trip a year or two back, I just bought the combined ticket at Central station. Keep 'em coming 👍

Cheers Johnny. I suspect your spot on with the glitch, Central - Rothesay was absolutely fine when I booked it. Ryde has been suggested as a possible contender so I’ll need to check that out. Thanks so much for watching and keep up your good work.

I have been to the Isle of Arran Tim, on the MV Caledonian Isles. Mind you it was much quieter when I went at the start of May. This is why I tend to stay home in the Summer, just too busy for me. I’ll be back up to Scotland in Jan/Feb again probably!

Great video showing the trip. Did the exact same journey from Ardrossan to Brodick about a month ago on Isle of Arran but due to storm winds on the way back got diverted to Gourock so a 50 min sailing turned into nearly 2 and a half hours. The “auld trooper” is really showing her age now but she’s absolutely brilliant loved every minute of travelling on her and will definitely shed a tear once she’s retired. Hopefully won’t be long til the Caley isles is back from refit and the Glen Sannox should be due in the next couple of months. But brilliant video and keep up the great work.

Think you have to book online on the website and collect the rail sail tickets or get directly from the ticket office as they need to issue you paper tickets.. the app cannot be used. The train you got I have experienced myself recently and frankly it’s the nicest train I’ve ever travelled with ScotRail, even the air conditioning works.. the ferry had 80’s vibes 😂
@Timstravels015 ай бұрын
80s vibes is spot on! That’s an excellent appraisal. The booking thing was curious, I was able to book Central-Rothesay on the Scotrail app (and then get the paper ticket at Wemyss Bay) but whilst I could enter Central-Brodick on the app, that’s as far as it went. Strange. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it.

Did they replace the MV Caledonian Isles? Usually its her, the big massive ship that does this crossing

The Caledonian Isles was away for repair at the time. So MV Isle of Arran was operating from Ardrossan and MV Alfred operating from Troon.
