Just the simple fact that President Ruto is making contacts and creating networks to enable Raila Odinga gets the top job is incredible and a sign of the state of maturity of kenyan politicians.This will not happened in my own country Cameroon and in a lot of francophone countries where political adversaries are seen as sworn enemies to be eliminated.

Raila at the AU chair means that Ruto gets a walk in the park in the next Kenyan General Election in 2027. If Raila stays at home then Ruto shall have a very tough battle to retain the Presidency in the next election. So, Ruto is playing Raila so as to eliminate him from domestic politics. On a fair election, Raila can beat Ruto quite easily if you were to look at the current situation in Kenya. Despite all that, in some parts of Africa, a political opponent is a sworn enemy that has to be eliminated by all means, including assassination. So, this move by Ruto does show some political maturity. Although there is some context to this move.
