Railfanning All of SEPTA: R3 West Trenton

Lots of surprises included. Single track operations, the SEPTA work train with RL1A 60 leading it, Awesome K5LAs from the cab cars, and more. I know there's more to this line especially at Woodbourne because of the CSX Trenton sub but since it only gets busy on Fridays (usually can't railfan that day) and how far it is I decided to stick with Rydal.

Got a big smile at 0:56 when your intro was over because I recognized that intersection immediately even though its been 20 years since ive been there. I used to go to school at Penn State Abington in the 90s and used to take the R3 from Center City to Rydal station.

@@Thunderbolt_1000_Siren yes. on the rare occasion that i would drive to school, i would drive up that road you were standing on because the road that goes under the Rydal train station was way too narrow. i was afraid i was going to get sideswiped by a car coming the opposite direction.

That's what happens when you have a diaphragm leak. A loud screech that can deafen you. Quite a few IVs have this issue due to their age.

The West Trenton was at first classified as R1 along with the Airport line in 1984, later they renamed it to R3 with the Media Elwyn but some trains still went to the airport. Basically before the R classification was dropped in 2010 the West Trenton connected with the Media Elwyn on weekdays and the Airport on weekends. Also R4 didn't exactly exist. It was rarely used to label the Bryn Mawr Locals
