I have to say, I am going to miss the Genesis series terribly when they are retired. Their design and “chugging” engines are absolute gems

Oh, I appoligise if I accidentally gave you wrong but ES44DC: the back radiator has 2 vents that are straight and 2 that are angled, while the ET44DC the 4 vents are all straight, C44-9: in the middle, there is a removed section in the top middle, those are the most common locomotive by GE. SD70ACE, the front has a raised part in the middle of the hood. There is a few different models, SD70M, SD70ACU, Sd70MAC etc. Most standard cab locos have a smaller cab, and there are different models, SD60, SD70, SD40-2, SD38, SD35, and 2 axles locos, GP60, GP40, GP38, GP30, GP9, etc. The SD/GP locos are made by EMD. GP series are usually found on smaller rail roads and are very old. Not all of the big locomotives are ET44DC and I am super sorry if I have you misleading information. Great catches BTW. Also, how long were you out for?

Example 2909 is a ES44DC, as at the back near the radiator, below, 2 vents are angles one way, and 2 others are angled another way. At 4:31, 8824 is a C44-9 as in the top middle, there’s a small little Down section between the radiator and back-cab. If you need more help, maybe watch Crafte Fox, identifying different locomotives! Hope this helps!
