The Antelope Valley Line is a lot different now, Brent. If you plan to go along the line again, they've increased the amount of trains for their timetable including on weekends, as the 280's trains now run on weekends too but run normally as locals like the other trains that start from and terminate at Via Princessa and this station. Those being 280, 281, 282, 285, 287 and 288. Be sure to also check out the new Vista Canyon station if you get the chance to go on this line.

@@natesmainlinevids Yeah man, it’s pretty amazing how much things change over time. I am definitely looking into checking out the Vista Canyon station in the future for sure !

@@BrentNguyen46 Oh, and if you also want to visit the Coaster again, they brought 690 and 691 back to the timetable with those running as a Saturday only train inbetween 678/680 and 681/683. Trains 688 and 689 also now run on Saturdays only as well.

I was formerly an ATSF Valley Div. engineer out of Fresno. When AMT wanted their own crews starting in 1981, I went over to AMT in November 1986, working out of LA crew base. In 1992 I bid on the new Metrolink yard job putting the new F59's and cab cars in service at the SP's old Bullring yard downtown LA. I ran all the promo runs for the media. On start-up morning in 1992, I operated the first train to turn a wheel, #100 out of Moorpark to LA, arriving second behind a Pomona job. After the earthquake Jan. 1994, I qualified on the Soledad Canyon line to Lancaster. Operated a ballast train from LA to Vincent, dumping ballast along the way. I ran the first train out of Lancaster since the San Joaquin Daylight trains #51-52 were pulled off. I had one of those miserable "trash 8's" #513 on the point. The schedule was over the time limit for the commuter agreements they had to pay me under the old agreement. I ws getting over $545.00 per day! 5 days a week! I was getting over #10,000.00 per month for 2 months until they bulldozed the Canyon, and I went back to the commuter agreement.

On the first train in this video, you can see two very special coaches. 187, which we all know what makes that one special, and 207, the coach which survived the Chatsworth Collision.

Is that one of the Old Cab cars that you see at 11:23 and 15:20 ? Metrolink took off the horn, bell,and headlights and just covered the cab car number and window
@darshanpork7284 жыл бұрын
Yes, the old Bombardier cab cars have 600 numbers on them. That one is numbered 619. Apparently Metrolink hates using Bombardier cab cars so it replaced with Hyundai Rotem cab cars and it blocked out windows, removed headlights, and took out driving controls to convert them into coaches.
@AVeryRandomPerson4 жыл бұрын
@darshan pork Metrolink considered them too "dangerous" after Glendale, so they were mostly "neutered" to serve as coaches.
@refusejuan1813 Жыл бұрын
Fun fact back in 2011 before December, some trains already had the Hyundai as the cab car, but some still had Bombardier cab cars

Fun fact: Metrolink also used to operate express trains on the San Bernardino Line as well, but those got scrapped as part of a schedule change in 2016
@BrentNguyen465 жыл бұрын
Paul Badillo Yes indeed. I remember catching the San Bernardino Line express trains back in 2015. I was rather surprised when I heard they removed it from the SB Line schedule.

This station looks pretty nice. It sucks that I can never make it to here on the train because something always has to happen on the line like, the tracks being repaired, or other things like that. Hopefully one day I make it there on the train.

Nice video. Also do u know what time the bnsf V-SDGCLO leaves San Diego yard and what time it’ll pass thru Santa Ana?
@BrentNguyen465 жыл бұрын
UP Guy 3014 Thanks ! Typically the V-SDGCLO operates on weekdays, although it isn’t uncommon to see it run on weekends as well. It will usually depart after the M-SDGBAR has left San Diego (approximately around 9:30pm - 11:30pm), so an approximate departure out of SD can be between 9:30pm to 1:30am at the latest for the autoracks. Accounting for speed and other trains on its way up to Santa Ana, it can pass through there approximately sometime between 10:30pm - 3:30am. This timing is mainly to coincide with minimal passenger rail traffic. (Again, please note that these times are approximations. This should be the general trend, although other additional factors may impact times and days of operation, including delayed inbound ships and/or offloading factors.)
