In continuation and building off of my recent railfanning series of videos along Metrolink’s Antelope Valley Line, I decided to make another trip back out along the line and get some more stations filmed. In light of this trip, although there were some time constraints, I figured it would be worth maximizing my time, so I decided to attempt to film at five stations all in one day, the most I’ve ever attempted in a given day. Luckily, the Antelope Valley Line sees a sufficient amount of commuter and freight trains throughout any typical weekday, thus providing for ample coverage of the line, even within one day. As a result, I would conclusively railfan at the Sun Valley, Sylmar / San Fernando, Newhall, Santa Clarita, and Via Princessa Metrolink stations in that particular order. Anyhow, after staying the night in Burbank, I made my way over early on this Friday morning to my first stop at the Sun Valley Metrolink station. Although there's not much to this station due to the fact that it mainly serves as an intermediate stop, the adjacent pedestrian crossing, train, and horn action was good given the short time I was here. After railfanning here, I made my way up the line to my next stop at the Sylmar / San Fernando Metrolink Station.
Train 1 : Metrolink #201 with F59PHI #884 & CabCar #658. Just at the break of dawn, the first northbound Metrolink on the Antelope Valley line appears for its station stop at Sun Valley.
Train 2 : Metrolink #204 with CabCar #693 & MP36PH-3C #888. Immediately after #201 enters the Sun Valley Siding, #204 appears and arrives. Friendly crew.
Train 3 : Metrolink #282 with CabCar #669 & F59PH #854. This is one of only two Express trains Metrolink operates in its entire system. The other one is #285, both of which are solely operated on the AV Line. Nice and friendly engineer on #669 !
Thanks for Watching !
