Just saw a BNSF train in the northwest that had a spinner valve on it. Question what are they for keep water out of the air tank?

Yes, the spitter valves release moisture from the air lines. I assume that when the valves are spitting quickly it means there is a huge amount of moisture present, or the valve is malfunctioning.

BNSF5608 if you have the original file in WAV format you can send it directly to Ring. They can put it in RailPro format and upload it to their site for all users to download.

Don't all GEVO's have the same horn from the factory? Regardless, I'm all for new recordings.

KPack they do, but depending on when they were built they sound different because of changes in castings and tooling. the later ones like you showed in this video have 1 piece 1Ls and flat bells (musically), while the early ones (ones with the big intakes) had some really sweet sounding ones with 2 piece 1Ls and bells that actually played intended notes.

Eek! No, it's the valves removing any condensed water from the compressed air system.

Kevin, nice job on the video. I actually had one recorded from an actual BNSF Gevo but I got an echo off a near by building. This one came from a BCOL unit and was much better. Hopefully Ring will soon get around to releasing other prime move sounds I've recorded.

So it's you who is providing the new recordings! The new GEVO-12 is excellent. I'm running the beta for it and it is awesome. Ringreleased a final version of it, but I don't like it nearly as much as the beta. I'm going to have to talk to them about that. What other prime movers have you recorded? I can't wait until Ring releases the new ones.

KPack let me see if I can remember. Alco 12-251 & 16-251the 16 cylinder has air starter. EMD 16-710 for SD60 EMD 16-710 tier 3 engine for SD70M-2/ACe SD/GP38/38-2 16-645 non turbo. GE post 1980 16-FDL engine for dash 8s onwards. On the 16-710 engines you can hear the whine of the turbo under load. We're working on more early GEs. U23/30 early B/C30-7s. Not always easily done with work getting in the way. I also have the beta Gevo engine. I love the sound it makes. I forgot one the GEVO tier 4 engine in the ET44AC.
