Trains look like something from a zombie apocalypse movie

This line (along with the Roma-Lido line) has "won" in the last 10 years the title of "Italy's worst railway". This line has never been controlled by Rome's city government. It looks like that it'll receive new trains in the next one-two years.

It looks like the windows on these trains haven't been washed in a hundred years. the glass was covered with a greasy coating. Trains should be washed at least once a year, Romans!

I think that in Italy the belief is that Graffiti will happen (it is an Italian word) so why throw money at cleaning it off when it comes back. As long as the train can operate safely that's the important thing. The New York Subway was always like this in the 1970's and 1980's
@Mikael777775 ай бұрын
but I wrote that windows should not be washed from graffiti. many windows are not covered with graffiti, they are just yellow, dusty, greasy from the raid of the railway. they are not washed at all from dirt and dust, although trains should be washed regularly at the depot. passengers from the cabin do not see what is happening outside.

That unfortunately isnt all to uncommon in Italy in general. Was in Milan a few years ago and it was exactly the same on some trains.

I had the terrifying honor of riding a commuter train. I haven't experienced such ugly trains and facilities for such a desirable and historic city of ROME for a long time, trains totally covered in graffiti. Moldy platforms and transfer tunnels, stench, hundreds of pickpockets on every corner. Just an experience to travel there. (And the advice is to never keep wallets and mobile phones in your pockets or a backpack on your back, always take it in your hands on your chest). 🇮🇹
@nixcails5 ай бұрын
Your just adding to the paranoia do you travel by train much? Most people use these services daily with no problems. The lack of investment causes most of the issues along with the state of Italian politics which is often more about egotistical leaders and them v us fights than actually solving problems.
