I believe that section of track that runs along Clarence St used to be the old TH&B line that heads to Hamilton. My Great Aunt and Uncle's place on Port St was so close to the tracks that if you stuck your head out the bathroom window at the wrong time you'd lose it. Such a rich rail history in Brantford. ''

I think TH& B started father down where the staion was, This was the Burford sub that ran to Tillsonburg. www.niagararails.com/burford.phtml

@@railpast Yeah, that makes sense. The section that now dead ends at Ingenia Polymers was TH&B and traveled along the canal and then the river and carried on to Hamilton (now a rail trail). The Clarence St section was CNR and must have linked with TH&B right around the old TH&B station somewhere I'm guessing. Thanks for the link and the great vids!

Train numbers ending in even numbers travel east and south while train numbers with odd endings travel north and west. This usually doesn't apply to local freight jobs, it will retain its number no matter which direction its travelling.

sicilian12345 Locomotives only have one number... I think your thinking about interstate numbers.

Ohhhhh, sheeeeesh!, just like here in the US, some drivers are oblivious to a train right next to them, and do dangerous manuevers.

How often do trains run on that track at 4:55? It seems like a very slow route to take
@railpast9 жыл бұрын
+TheBrantfordRailfan Yes I was aware of that. Track still owned by CN. Thanks for the heads up, I will come over wed to catch it. Maybe see you track side.

Why is the VIA Rail announcer speaking french? It's Brantford, in Southern Ontario, the least bilingual part of Ontario.
@railpast5 жыл бұрын
Trudeau made French an official language in Canada so everything must be in French and English. Cost taxpayers billions to have all documents in both languages. You must be bilingual to get a job in the Federal government or work for any crown corporation including VIA rail. It is a one way street we allow as in Quebec English signs are not allowed and French is the official language.
