Railroad Crossings of the South Shore Line

The Chicago South Shore and South Bend Railroad, most commonly known as the South Shore Line, is an interurban railroad that runs from Chicago to South Bend, IN, and is one of the last interurban railroads in the US. The line is used by both electric EMU train sets, and diesel freight trains operated by the South Shore.
There are a numerous amount of crossings along this line, including a huge amount, mostly passive, along both street running portions of the line through Michigan City on 10th St. and 11th St. A wide variety of equipment is used with newer and older signals; gateless, gated, and cantilevers are all used (although South Shore is now upgrading most gateless crossings). There is also a good mix of mechanical and electronic bells used. This line also features the most Safetran Fading LEDs you'll see in the Chicago area.
In this compilation, I'll show all of my catches along the South Shore from 2015 to 2019, most of which centers around Michigan City. In the coming years, I hope to explore more the South Shore towards South Bend and towards Chicago.

I was going to ask why you only label the first few crossings, and then I realized when I got on the computer that you've got them in the time-stamps, but my android app doesn't show them! I lived in South Bend for many years, and took the South Shore to Chicago lots of times. If you ever get out here to New Mexico, we have the Rail Runner that goes between Santa Fe - Albuquerque-Belen.

Gary Indiana is a perfect example of how a city does not recover from deindustrialization. It becomes a center for crackheads and meth dealers.

Weird for a train to be rolling down the middle of what appears to be a residential street with nothing protecting the cars that may be traveling on the sides of the train.

They need to remove those tracks from the street and build it somewhere else because roads and trains in a residential neighborhood do not mix.
