Railroad Switching , Shoving Boxcars Into Huhtamaki & Purina Update, Cincinnati Eastern Railroad

Cincinnati Eastern Railroad Switching Afton Yard & Taking Boxcars To Huhtamaki, Purina Update & Rock Train Unloading On Main Line. These trains are in Afton, Batavia and Milford Ohio. The first locomotive is a GP15-1 and the 2nd one is a MP15DC.
First we see the train switching Afton Yard and then shoving boxcars into the Huhtamaki complex. They had to wait for the door to open on the north track and then swap boxcars. Purina won't be ready for railcars this year. The rail spur has not been started but trees have been cut where it will go. Purina also purchased another 55 acres for constructing another plant next to the main one.
The train unloading rock is on the main line near Milford Ohio at the Hanson unloading area. The little switcher brings the loads from Newtown to Hanson, moves the train while it is being unloaded and then takes the empties back to Newtown. A longer train will take the rock cars to Plum Run Hanson quarry and return.

I don't know where you live but if you ever get to Hershey Pa. Chocolate town. They use a caboose about 3 or 4 times a week to shift for the chocolate factory and I believe one other business.

Fantastic video as always Jawtooth! I love the Cincinnati Eastern! I would love to see the Railroad personally some day. I love these smaller railroads. They really go after every car load. I know it’s practically impossible for the east end to be put back in service. Stranger things have happened though. Not too long ago I would never in a million years have thought that an entirely new line would be built between Orlando and the Space Coast in Florida where there was never a railroad before. Thanks Brightline! This along with the Florida East Coast Railway being almost entirely double tracked and looking like a little class one. Yes, I really love the FEC too. And I have to mention the New York and Atlantic here in NYC.

Great video. Does CCET switch out Milacron and Utility Trailer? Purina means more work for the GP15s and the GEs!!! Also more great vids by Jawtooth!!! You need to come up to Elkhart, In sometime. Two short lines and lots of NS and CP live action!

Cool, I will look up Elkhart on Google Maps. CCET does not switch Milacron or Utility Trailer. They store cars on the Milacron siding. Milacron use to have their own heavy duty flat cars but got rid of them. I remember seeing Norfolk Southern ship big things out of Milacron that were covered in tarps.

This is the reason that the short lines are a success, good customer service. I have blood work done every three months, the lab corp techs do a nice job. I don't feel the needle and they give me a good wrap since I am on a blood thinner for afib. I've been retired for 10 years and don't miss switching in the cold.

Jawtooth you should come up to Granger Indiana, there’s a switch right before the SR 23 crossing. It’s a CN line, every Tuesday morning a shipment of lumber gets delivered to the lumber yard in town, usually around 10:20 AM.

I hope you had fasted (not eating anything for 12 hours before the blood test. Otherwise you will have to do it again. Also you should drink a lot of water before the test that morning. It helps with the blood draw and your arm may not hurt. Remember this for next time. On a different subject. I know you like music. Do you remember Cat Stevens? He did a song called “Peace Train”. What I like to do is change one word. Change Peace to GP. It still works in the song. Even Amtrak runs a GP truck on there engines. Steven Sipes

Great good made video, mr Jaw Tooth. The CCET used nice locomotives but with two people ( engineer conductor) why use they not radiocontrol on that locomotives. It is simply to build in. All local locomotives in the Netherlands are in use to switch cars by the costumers are radiocontrol locomotives ( in Dutch: radiolocs) Greet from Zandvoort the Netherlands 🇾🇪🇺🇸
