2 Big Lease Locomotives Pulling Indiana And Ohio Railway Train, Crew Boards Train, 2 Trains Passing On CSX Main Line & Railfan Memorial Site. Norfolk Southern & CSX Trains Crossing Railroad Bridge Over Mill Creek & Old Baltimore And Ohio Railroad Signals Still In Use. These trains are in Spring Grove Village, Cincinnati and Erlanger, Kentucky. Amtrak also passes through Spring Grove but I was not able to catch an Amtrak train.
The firs train has a couple of ex Union Pacific Railroad locomotives pulling an I&O manifest of CSX tracks. These locomotives are lease engines that came from Larrys Truck Electric ( LTEX ) out of McDonald, Ohio. I&O has several of them and I have seen them a few times.
Next we see a crew van pull up to a stopped CSX train and let a crew member out who boards the front of the lead locomotive. The train leaves and then a Norfolk Southern train passes it and we see two trains heading northbound at the same time. That was awesome!
Then a Norfolk Southern train comes south into Cincinnati. The final train is seen passing Erlanger Yard in Erlanger, Kentucky on the NS Rat Hole Line. @1960gambit was with me and we got trains in Cincinnati, Erlanger and Elsmere, Kentucky. Scott has several videos and I will have 2 more videos from this trip.

The Indiana Southers use to come to the Grand Rapids area [ now Walker ] to pick up gypsum back in the mining days... stopped in 1974... the tracks have all been converted to rails to trails now. I walked a lot of them and feed the Mute Swans bread and also the deer would watch for me to toss them bread... those were the days.

'Larry's Truck & Electric' says on their web site they have over 400 engines for lease. They will deliver. Second train with Hammerhead Shark nose forward most likely a local. Road engines are slowly but surely replacing the vaunted SD's. The conductor, who gave you a couple of stares, most likely being transported to the engine after doing something, as in perhaps coupling the train or some such other work. With the length of trains these days, it's a long walk for the conductor should something go wrong and he has to walk the train. Out in the boondocks, he's on his own.

I know the trains don't go as fast close to the yard or leaving, but it seems that with the longer trains, they are also slower. If you look at some older videos (before long trains) they are doning what looks to be 50 or 60 MPH. Probably better, as they have enough derailments as it is!
