To be fair, I don't think there is really any train handling game that doesn't take a while to play. There really isn't a way to speed up switching without having presorted cars spawning in and unrealistically over optimized loops, sidings and double track mainlines. Progression in Railroader may be somewhat slow, however, progression with locomotives is actually very quick, as I was very surprised to see how lenient the loan system is, making it very easy to get mid-sized locomotives. Therefore, I think the pacing is quite well done for the Early Access release.

I just started playing on Steam Deck doing the single player tutorial. When you do multiplayer how dose that work is it a separate company from the single player ?

Personally I like the slow crawl/grind scale lol. But I agree with your point of view regarding the point you are trying to make. The initial onslaught from the get-go is daunting and causes progression to feel like an immediate grind even during the tutorial. Which I do see, it’s just that I am looking forward to that lol.

I’m playing it on steam deck and had to map all the controls as well as learn them 😮😂 It’s a pretty good game I’m enjoying it nice to have a bit of steam I’ll be switching between this and SimRail they compliment each other well. Railroaders got like a nice Hornby railway vibe to it that’s how it made me feel shunting things around anyway which isn’t a bad thing at all.

game is great, very similar to run8. I think ppl are used to rro and can't handle the long-term growth. Edit: Also, tutorial was great. F1 shows everything u missed or forgot from tutorial.

Honestly, I dont believe this is the review you wanted to make, and it feels like the wrong review for the game. I'd appreciate it if you would take a second shot at this review, as you rushed the review and I'm unsure if I should take your word for it at face value. Though the honesty of the fact it was rushed was very much warm to hear, especially right off the gun.

So basically for $30 , i can be a Alpha Tester. FFS. Nope. i'll just pirate the game if i really have to play it. This game looks ok , i guess. but i'll just stick with Railroads:Online or Derail Valley. this game should really only be like $10-$15 in it's current state. You might praise it , but then that's only because they gave you a key and in fear if you don't say something kind about it , no one will give you future key's. i won't buy this for at least a year....maybe more.

I praise it because I have played this game for 50 hours in this last week and I legitimately want to play more, despite the looming threat of creative burnout. I criticize it because I recognize the gameplay style is not for everyone, no matter how much I love it personally.

OK here is someone who asked for a key and was denied. Judging by your hate you might think I'm going to pat you on the back, and stroke your virtue signaling. $30 IS A STEAL! On 1st night I played a total of 6 hours my son got a head start while I was at work for an additional 2 hours. I have played train/railroad simulators for over 15 years. I enjoyed both Railroads Online and Derail Valley. If the only the thing that is important to you is eye candy, then knock yourself out. I played Run8 for 8 years and plenty of desert scenery with not much detail and had a blast. So please don't go ASSuming you know that a person who gets a key or doesn't is going to give an honest review. I could care less what developers I've offended over the years have to say (that's their issue). What I can say about this team is they take criticisim well and they update constantly. In my opinion TSW is crap, and as good as RO and DV was it is now collecting dust on my hard drive and will likely be uninstalled. Will developers give me a key because I uninstalled their product. Don't worry they will have plenty of people like you and others who will enjoy their products. There are plenty who are raving about Railroader right now.

@@SeanMurrellRTS I'd NEVER ask for a key. i make nearly $75,000 a yeah. i don't need a free key , hell i can buy any game i want and never look back. this game is shit , and in 1-3 years when it's playable and has content that warrants the asking price , i'll buy it...maybe.
