Railroader C&O H6 teaser

This locomotive is still very much a work in progress. The model in the video will be updated and changed prior to release. There is no timeline for the release of the mod.

Of all the articulated steam locomotives, this is the one that makes the most sense for the game for a multitude of reasons. Any reason to not add the H6 to the game can be easily rebuked, location of origin (Most of the locomotives in the game did not run in North Carolina ), weight (B-65 weighs more by 200,000lbs), too long (8 feet shorter than the B-65), too strong (only 5,000 stronger than the F-71), didn’t run on a shortline (true, but neither did half the engines in the game and the H6 was made for branch lines which is still fine because this map is based on the Murphy Branch), shouldn’t be added because it’s not realistic (you don’t have to use it, just let them add it because there are others who would love to use it).

Having just installed DWFiv3's Coal Mine i can’t wait until I can get some even larger locomotives. The amount of cars you get per day is ridiculous. Probably going to need another Santa Fe or two until this or the AE is released.

Challenger is likely to come before a Big Boy will. The Western Maryland ran Challengers as such that fits into the game’s region. Tbh most of the modding communities for the game hate the Big Boy or at least just refuse to make it for the sake of having it in the game.

Can’t wait for this to come out, makes 3 articulated locomotives for railroader, at this rate we might get an N&W A class 2-6-6-4 or Y6a/b 2-8-8-2, which would make me very very pleased

DUDE superb music selection! (I know this song off the top of my head, and I can play it on guitar as well... actually its quite easy) Ok, I have yet to get back into Railroader after the LUBE update... and I still long for something N&W... but I guess I'll make do with this loco as well (Did you seriously not include the last verse??) Actually now that I think about it, seeing how my current F-71s are performing, I might need bigger tenders on one of these to make them viable to run

Having The Beast of the East in Railroader to me is more practical than the AE Class, not to speak ill of the AE Class, but I would rather have a balanced blend of power, mobility, speed even if it means I have to sacrifice some drive wheels and cylinder bore and stroke sizes

The AE is practical for the application of moving coal over mountains. Perfect for getting coal trains up to Andrews. It might not be fast, but it’ll get the job done. That’s why the Virginian had them built that way. Ruck marching coal trains over Clark’s Gap slowly but efficiently

Not really sure where you heard that from but it’s untrue. The AE is still being worked on (slowly) by the WNCRR modding team. You’re probably thinking of the Western Maryland H9 which was cancelled by its author.

To be honest neither! All you do is extract the file, and drag the id of it into the streaming assets and into asset packs, I can make a video showing it if you’d like

The "plan" is by the end of the month. At the end of the day it's up to the mod author. He's been working hard on it for a while now and it's mostly done from a "mechanical" standpoint. It'll need new textures and a few other little tweaks prior to release.
