As a person who has supported Hyce For a while at this point, I think he went too harsh on the modelers that made the models. he didn't need to go that right to call them stupid. He really needs to do an apology after what he did on that stream.

Personally, I think he’s full of shit. I used to support him, but after that stream, I don’t anymore. There’s no damn sense in being a dick over a train game that wasn’t meant to be 1,000% accurate from the get go

Yea that rubbed me the wrong way. He even admitted on stream that he was doing it on a stream and not a video to lessen the flak he might get.

When did that happen ? I watched a video of him absolutly blasting one of the engines because the turret pipping didn't make any sense. Is that the same video ? Honestly didn't seem very offensive

You mentioned difficult solo manageability near the end, your RR would definitely have reached that point for me. I’m soloing about 25 days in, Sylva to Alarka Jct, and Alarka opens later today. Mostly Tier 1, 2 and 3 industries for a more relaxing day, usually finished setting out new cars by Noon, afternoons spent gathering returns to Sylva, and sometimes work at night. Coal train leaves for Sylva at 5 pm sharp, Tier 1. Will get Tier 1 copper when that’s available. Might go to Andrews eventually, but slowly. New update industries look enticing. Never taken out a loan.

I had a schedule that I was sticking to and it was working really well. The thing that messed me up was the continuous interchange mod, it loaded my tracks when I wasn't ready then I ran out of room. With the new map mods I should be able to work the same volume and not be spread so thin. But I'm starting over to build up differently.

I think it’s worth remembering that Hyce also said that everything else that was changed in this update was great, which yeah that’s pretty much true except the camera getting stuck in the ground, and that he was more than willing to point the devs and modelers towards people that can help the modelers get these models more accurate. It seemed like plague doctor was going to take up that offer too, so hopefully something good comes out of all of this nonsense. This really is a small community and we don’t need drama.
@OleandersGamingEmporium5 ай бұрын
I believe Plague Doctor has spoken with him. I know the devs said they were going to be updating models, they didn't say it was going to be right away which is why I don't get why he went off the deep end. It's one thing to be helpful, but going out and calling someone's work garbage is just wrong. If he wanted to be helpful he could have said that and left it there, but he kept doubling down then his friends got in on it as well. That's where I have a problem with them. I hope it all blows over, I'm done with anything he puts out at this point. He's gone off like this before.

While i did only watch a minute or two of the stream (and only certain spots after the stream was done), It's kind of safe to say i am a little bit deterred from looking up to him as inspiration for at least a few things .-.

Very sad that you wont be playing cos when it comes out, tho i do respect your opinion. Very interesting to see the other side of the coin when it comes to tbe drama. The main problem he had was that they said that they were going to be fixing the models, but they didnt. From what i gathered, the modelers were going to talk to him privately to see what they can do better.

I hope they don't, honestly. He's never been one to act in good faith and I think the game will be lesser for having his worthless input.

Being in the middle of all that on the discord was horrible and idk if youre on the discord i am, but his entire justification the drunken rant against plague the mod, was that they made promises about the accuracy of the models and i had screenshotted and discussed with others on the discord prior to that that no promise was made, he was a man who had to much to drink and wanted to force whatever theyre superioty complex was down our throats i claimed 5 times the server was peaceful before it all came down to it. But issue plague to ease out of the drama i feel didnt defend himself enough and let himself be insulted. Hyce is a face of a large train community and that brings in a very bad image of us all when his fanbase like him on his streams are prone to insulting and just attacking people. He shouldve known to conduct himself better especially as a isnt he a CEO of the said company thats making the train game of his? its a very very bad look and it shows behind his facade of polite niceness in videos hes a very shallow and prude, vindictive man.
@trainman76165 ай бұрын
For what its worth, I didnt take anything that was said personal, I took a few of the things that were said about the model (4-4-0) and wrote them down so they could be fixed tho. But no, as for being insulted? I just didnt care lol. It takes alot to get to me and that wasnt it. I was also dealing with the drama on the discord at the time and trying to get that under control.

According to the videos on their KZbin channel, he is the President of the company. I don't know where he was coming from with the comment either, I know Plague didn't take anything personally but judging by Elijah's comments to this video it bothered him quite a bit. Like I said in the video, the guy is the President of a game studio, he got drunk and went on KZbin and just went off about nothing of any importance. And he's done it in other videos where he'll be like "oh I'm gonna be nice and not say anything." I'm done with him, if he's talking that much smack on a livestream, I can only imagine what gets said off camera and I think we got to see that in the video before he took it down.

While it’s a shame you won’t be playing COS as it looks right up your alley, you’re also valid for not wanting to support them for this. This scenario is just shit flinging at a level where there shouldn’t be shit flinging among other things as well. It is nice to see that railroader is making improvements to the overall gameplay experience which it does very well imo

My only input on that guy and his drunken rants: here are my thoughts. No one should ever compare a game to real life. This is the problem with this game: people are nitpicking it because it does not simulate a real train 100%. The problem is that this game pulls ideas from the real world. The hardest thing to ever do in game development is to copy said world. Here is how we should go about this: You should only compare this game to other games related to trains. This is how you should be judging this game and others. While they do pull from the real world, it will never 100% simulate the real thing. More so, on a Unity game engine, there would be no damn way this engine could handle a 1-1 simulated world. When it comes to the game that the drunken rant guy is making, They're using Unreal5, and they can get away with high-poly models, more detailed models, and more simulated models because of one code. The Unity engine works off the LOD's Level of Details, which means they need about 3 to 6 copies of the same model and assets, each one goes from LOD_01 to LOD_06, so the farther away the object is, the LOD has to switch over to the more lower poly form. This takes hard work to try and mix and match these LOD's. Matching them as best as you can and blending them together. (Look at the trees that pop in.) Thats LOD switching. When it comes to the drunken guys, GAME and his engine They don't have to do this, they can just use Nanite. Nanite is a new and improved virtualized geometry system that does this automatically in real time. So the dumb game he is building does not use lower poly models or (the best artist in the world) a child can build a game off Unreal5 it's now all mostly node editing and Nanite and more automated systems. Unity is much harder, so you can't make really complex modeling. HOWEVER, I have already seen the models in RR, and I have to say good on them because it takes lots of work to make them, and I would give them a 4 out of 5 on how well these models are. So, in summary, never compare a game to the real world. only compare them to other games.
