Whilst the majority of South Wales Valleys / Cardiff commuters had to endure the wretched Pacers, Rhymney Valley passengers were travelling in luxury! 37 heaven. Thanks Mike.

Always enjoy the 37 vids. My brother drove one (freight) for a decade or more up and down the valleys mostly will coal, keep hoping to catch a glimpse of him at the controls. One sighting only, collecting a token at Tondu signal box. Many years ago. Somebody jumped under his 37 coming out of Newport Tunnel. Finished his driving, became a guard. On valley passengers.

I lived in Ystrad Mynach from 97 to 2014 within earshot of the station and the sound of the growlers was a familiar one, especially in the evenings on freight workings.
