The noises you're hearing aren't from monkeys; they actually come from the Kookaburra bird! In the lush rainforest regions of Australia, kingfishers feast on worms and leeches and are known for their hearty laughter. Unfortunately, there are no monkeys native to Australia.

Momentum is your friend when riding off road on a heavy bike. If you dont make the hill, go back to the bottom and try again. You'll never get going again on the hill. Cool Vid, Cheers Mate.

It's taken me a while to understand the seductive nature of your ASMR videos. They're not motorcycle "riding" videos. But rather they are living examples of a kind of silent meditation that just isn't common. Watching you move through the space and landscape on which you decide to camp, no talking, no screens, none of the chaotic flow of digital information that seems to automatically appear whenever I'm in a situation that my brain identifies as "boring." Your video isn't boring. It's a lesson for me to find the courage to do things differently. To slow down, to be still, to absorb the moment as it is rather than trying to expand it, or distract myself from it. As I think about the videos I make for my channel they are just noisy and whatever lip service I offer to slow down and smell the roses, the construction of those videos doesn't always reflect that thought. And I have to say that your cinematic skills are amazing. The patience it takes to gather the footage to make a video like this is hard for me to imagine. Bravo for the work you've done here. And thank you so much for sharing.

I know exactly what you mean. It took some time for me to realize that this is how I want to express myself and to share how I see the world. I’m so glad it’s resonated with you the way I intended. I know it’s not for everyone, but it definitely is and always will be for me 🙏

Muddy hill: consider these for better traction (1) get rid of the luggage sooner, before exhaustion (2) lower tire pressure, you'll need a pump to re-inflate (3) looks like you may have had the wrong tires for the job (4) you are always sitting and paddling when you should be on the foot pegs - this needs practice (5) be in 2nd, give it gas and feather the clutch. Good luck. And keep'em coming, I'm a fan!

A couple of leech stories from a long time bush walker. * I once had a leech attach to my inner calf. The site got infected and a day later there was a red line running up my leg into my groin. It then caused a massive lump in my groin lymph nodes and needed antibiotics. The pain started with the red line and when the lymph nodes got hit I was incapacitated by it. They can be serious little creatures at times. * Second story. A walking mate once got a leech in his sock. He had no idea when it got in there and he didn't notice it until he took his boots off that evening. By then the sock was soaked red and his boot was half full of blood. He nearly fainted at the sight of it. The leech had obviously had its fill but the anti-coagulant they inject into the skin meant he kept bleeding for a long time. No harm was done apart from his emotional reaction. * Caution. There is a bit of folk lore about getting them off the skin with salt or a cigarette lighter. Don't do that. It can make them pass blood back under your skin and you end up infected with whatever is in the leech's gut. Stretch your skin tight under its mouth and slide something like a guitar pick under it to remove it.
