This timer worked great last summer. I stored it dry and without batteries, and now when I put in fresh new batteries, it displays "ROT" (and full battery symbol) but does not respond to any buttons or rotating the wheel. What does "ROT" mean? Not listed in the company's website troubleshooting guide and manual!

I just installed this system and I had the same problem, one thing I noticed is that if you cycle the system over again it will work. Kind of a big issue if you are using it with a timed schedule, hopefully someone has a fix for this or I'll have to keep an eye on it each time it's set to water

It does not have pressure regulation. You'll have to add a pressure regulator if your using drip tape or lower pressure drippers. Not sure about the backflow, but I just added one anyway.

I've had mine for probably 5 months. The whole screen has gone crazy on me, pretty much showing everything on the screen that can be illuminated. My screen went blank after changing the batteries. God knows why. I was ready to chuck it but decided I had nothing to lose so stripped it down and put it back together and it worked. My unit was three years old.

Hi, Unfortunately, the controller does not have any other way to reset it besides taking the batteries out. Probably the best option would be to apply a warranty on it. We can do it through the date code. On the controller itself you will see some numbers next to the battery port.

Same problem. The overall unit is junk, even though the electronics and interface are well designed. RAINBIRD didn't want to spend a little more money on valves that will last more than 2 years.

Don’t worry too much about pulling in the tabs, the important part is to pull upward/outward. It should slide right out

This timer does not reduce water pressure. All it does is open the valve fully and close the valve fully at the times you set it for and nothing else. Pressure can only be controlled with other sold separately connectors meant to regulate the water flow either by installing the regulator before inlet or after outlet on the timer. 🙂

somuchfun no Every hose I have ever bought has metal ends. Yet even with metal ends, hoses are not expensive. Hose attachments are sold in both plastic and metal, such as spray nozzles. Metal adds about $2-5 to the price of those attachments. So far I have had TWO of these electronic timers break at the point where the hose attaches, despite being careful. I would gladly pay an extra $5.00 for something that is more likely to last many years, compared with having a $30-40 item that is completely destroyed and worthless.

hummm 🤔 maybe it needs a new rubber hose gasket or some plumbers tape might work around the threads, if not I don’t think there's a fix if it’s leaking from the inside of the plastic. Nope, you can only set it to go on 2 times during the day but you have control how long it will run for. I wish it would allow us to set more then 2x a day. my orchids need spraying more then 2x a day. ☹️ 3x would be better.
