Just a typical day in America, maintenance in the US never bother to fix leaks, potholes, etc. US is too late and backwards. In my country, potholes and leaks are usually fixed after 2-5 days, US doesn't seem to fix after 2-9 years.

What makes u think in the year 2022 it has been fixed? At this station is a very steep hill going up Lexington Ave the rain downpour always runs down the hill and into the subway street heat exhaust grille vents. It would be a 'major' street n sidewalk expense for the MTA to fix. I lived in that area i know first hand what it was like thru out the years. Winter was the worst MTA bus sliding back down that hill because of ice n snow no proper traction salt made no difference u needed chains on the rear tires to go up that hill.

Damn this was my home station in the 1970's going to J.H.S 77 St n H.S. 143 St Marys in the Bronx on the #6 Line. I thought the leaks would have been fixed by the MTA nope. Now I can see how the TTC then n now in Toronto doesn't have this problem with there underground stations more thoughtful smarter solutions planning.

Both cities/states have corrupt politicians that line their pockets with money that should be spent on infrastructure. Public transit is usually the first to be cut. The big difference is that Boston has 128 stations to deal with on a shoestring budget while NYC has 472.

This is ridiculous for something like this in America. This is the kind of stuff if I was able to get more money and a team I’d start fixing, I’m not from New York though so I’d start with my area first. If I went to New York I would also be looking for cool underground places like the Turtle Lair. But Musk could fix this himself in like ten minutes and Bezos certainly would have a team that could, not to mention tons of other talent and funding America has.
