Seahawk fan for life. Born in Seattle Wa. 1967, Swedish Hospital. Doesn't any more Seattle than that. My family has strong Norwegian tree. The Vikings were my favorite team as a youngen'. I dreamt football from age 5 on. I begged for old early 70's jr NFL letterman's jacket for kids. Begged. It was the only thing I wanted for Christmas. Finally, aged 8, I finally got it. Then the NFL announced Seattle and Tampa Bay are getting new teams. Over the moon. I was so happy. Finally, we were getting our OWN team. But I was torn. I had this new jacket for a team I could no longer support. After all. How could I root against the home team? I prayed and walked along a creek. Then it hit me. I'll put it in god's hands. So, I found a sturdy stick and held my jacket, shivering and all, over the creek. A very deep part with steep 6 foot cliffs. If I was to stay with the Vikings, then the stick would hold. And it did. I accepted my fate, pulled the jacket back in and the stick broke!!!! When I got home, I was both exalted with joy for my new team, and dread for what lay ahead. My mother was upset of course. "Wait until your father gets home". Which meant dinner time. Oh, those long waits for dinner at times. The dread was horrible. I was already trying to think of ways to excuse myself. Dinner was fine. My older brother just smiled like wolf, savoring what was to come. My little sister was oblivious, mostly worried about whether her snoopy doll would get along with her new barbie. After the main course, before dessert, dad gave the big sigh. It was time. "I hear you threw away the jacket you have been asking for the last two years. Why would you do such a thing?' "um..... well dad..... Seattle's my hometown....and we have a new team and well Dad, I can't root against my home team" ........................................... Dad: "well mom, the boys got a point." No punishment at all. I remember it for two reasons. I realized how much I loved football but way more powerful, it was the ONLY time Dad took my side over Mom!!!!!!! ya. The NFL is a special thing.

A truly Seahawk distinction :) I remember Atlanta made it as a wild-card team at 7-9 in the Glanville era, and there was one more that I can't recall, and don't want to google. That Saints game felt like a Super Bowl triumph. Thank you AGAIN!

Excellent documentary. Well put together and it captured the beginning of the Seahawks legacy we see today. Pete Carrol was the right choice at the right time. These were the seeds that grew into a Super Bowl Champion and team to be dealt with year in and year out. Carrol will go down as the best coach the Seahawks ever had. I've always liked the Seahawks. Their games was on here on the East Coast at least 3 -5 times a year. So I got to enjoy their style when the had Zorn, Largent, Smith, running trick plays, blocking punts, and that crowd at the Kingdome was always crazy. The Ground Chuck years was good, espescially when they knocked off Miami. Even though they lost the Championship game, it was understood the Seahawks are real and dangerous. So I liked them a long time and was very happy that they win consistently.

I am living in the Bay Area now, but when I was 10 I moved to Tacoma (30 minutes south of Seattle) from LA county, that was 2004. I became a Seahawks fan in 2005 after watching games with my uncle. Them going to the Super Bowl made it really easy to become a fan at 10 years old, but I have been with them ever since. It feels so good being a dedicated fan sticking with your team through the good, bad and ugly to finally watch them become one of the best teams. Every season since we got RW3 I always believe the Seahawks can make the Super Bowl. Before the 2013-14 I swear to God I called Seahawks vs Broncos, next year I called Sehawks vs Colts (Colts made the AFC Champ), 2015-16 I called Seahawks vs Raiders, the year after that I called Seahawks vs Steelers... lol I just always believe, even if its too much. This year I am going to call Seahawks vs Steelers.

The real beginning is at 23:26. "Yeah man, gum me." Without Pete Carroll's gum there would never have been a redemption in rain city

I absolutely remember Week 17 Matthew was out with a injury then came in QB Clipboard Jesus Wich he played solid and helped us get into the Playoffs 👍

I'm a huge Pete Carroll fan I live in Michigan but absolutely love Seattle football Super Bowl 49 absolutely broke my heart we need a coach like Pete Carroll where I come from here in Michigan we haven't had a winning season since 1991 when Barry Sanders was in the backfield in my opinion a winning season is winning more than one playoff game in the last 20 years I've never seen a coach with more enthusiasm and love for his players who knows how to balance having fun and getting down to business when it comes to winning football games with the exception of Jimmy Johnson Pete Carroll is the best coach in Seattle Seahawks history again this is just my opinion

This video gave me appreciation for Mike holmgren, even though he didn’t win the super bowl he really helped turn Seattle around in the early 2000s
