No matter what the score was, they were prime time television. They were the next true feud, two great teams in the same division no less much like the Steelers and Ravens, and similarly bloody. Its so rare nowadays to get 2 teams that actually legitimately seemed to hate one another. The downside to the rivalry? It ended so soon.

@WestCoasting2066 жыл бұрын
Alex Henzel I was working at Costco the day of that 2013 NFC Championship game and they had the game on all of the TV’s so a large crowd formed. A Niners fan and a Hawks fan started yelling each other and the Niners fan connected a punch. The cops had to come but right before they put the handcuffs of him, he did the Kaep bicep kiss and yelled F the Seahawks to the entire group of people. So yeah, the hate was real.
@mto3543 жыл бұрын
@@LEBUMCHOKEDIN6FINALS NFL rigging games for TV ratings or storylines they want to push in tandem with the media is exhausting. Niners have gotten the short end of the rigging sadly - NFC championship vs Seattle while Seahawks and Wilson were the media’s darlings, then Super Bowl with Chiefs while the Chiefs and Mahomes (and Kelce and Hill) are the media’s darlings. Bad luck on timing with media darlings for Niners fans - instead they put Niners players like Jimmy G in the media enemy list… just like they did with Harbaugh back then.

What facinates me about this is HOW similar the circumstances surrounding Harbaugh's exit from Michigan/return to the NFL are to Pete Carrol leaving USC to coach the Seahawks
@BrokeredHeart6 жыл бұрын
This beef made both of those teams better. They weren't just playing for self identity, they made their opponent the villain, and it extended from coaches, to players, to fans. Quite frankly, without it, Seattle's defense lost a bit of its ferocity without Harbaugh on the opposite sideline. They needed that catalyst to keep their edge, and sadly, there was no other man that could have driven that defense to be the best of the decade. Carroll knows how to coach hotheads, and he channelled that rage effectively, but they didn't have that juice that really knocked them into top gear.

King in the North He's never been to a championship game in College. He never won a power 5 conference in College. And he never will at Michigan. Even with Andrew Luck, he couldn't get a single banner in college. He inherited a decent roster at SanFran and had a good 3 year run... but he's so toxic they told him to pack his bags despite that. His record at Michigan now is on par with Brady Hoke -- and his recruiting is markedly worse than Hoke. He can't coach up diamond-in-the-rough 3stars like Dantonio, Ferentz, and Chryst. And he can't recruit the 5stars like Urban and Franklin. I'd rate him as the 8th best coach in the B1G. Urban, Dantonio, Franklin, Chryst, Ferentz*, Fitzgerald**, and I'll slide in Scott Frost for now too... even that MNC ring is more than Harbaugh has - or will - ever see. *Can actually beat Ohio State. **Success at Northwestern, limited as it is, can't be underestimated. Fitz is pretty solid at developing a good team every 3-4 years at the Academic Powerhouse that Michigan likes to pretend they are.

@Patrick Brewer the only people that call that play the dumbest ever don't know football. Why was it not dumb? 1) had 1 timeout 2nd and goal with 20 seconds left. They had to throw a pass at least once to have enough time to run 3 plays. 2) Pats were in a run stuffing defense. 3)Lynch was an abysmal 1 for 6 on runs where he needed 1 yard or less to get a 1st down or TD that year. 4) There were over 100 slant passes called in goal line situations in the NFL that year. Not a single one had been intercepted before that pass. If you still think that was a bad call despite facts showing otherwise. Then there is no hope for you.
