of course its easier. since its permadeath, you can make him stop walking into fires but what if something happens by accident so he ends up too close to the fire or his programming bugs out and he kills himself? some people like the ai helpers and would not be okay with losing them that way. i dont like lazy workarounds but this is a perfect solution. tbh i really hate when you have an ai protagonist in a game and they either set off guards or can be killed...

I absolutely can not wait to see what they do with crafting in the future, as well ass building(not structures but more furniture and useful blueprints). I doubt that one update will be devoted entirely to on thing at this stage in development, expect a slow integration of new features in every aspect of the game until full release.

After this patch 02 and a small (unknown) hotfix, there is a glitch with the cases as it respawned items after coming back from a cave. I used custom mode, all maximized for hard, time/day realistic. and the longest possible I experienced this at the machete camp, where, after saving/reloading several times, cases were correctly open/empty. Then when I went to the rebreather cave and when I swam back from the exit, the machete camp welcomed me with full load...

Well that building change kinda sucks. I used to put logs through the slanted one so I could make stairs flush with the wall. Maybe there is a different way to do this but I couldn't figure it out on the release build.

The devs seem to have it out for us on some of the patches. I get it that it is no fun if an item is over powered, but they already nerfed the shotgun by 50%, and they just keep nerfing other useful things. The berries were supposed to be improved in the first patch, and it made absolutely no difference. They are completely useless to forage for and eat. They also decreased the golden armor, cat food, spawn crates, fires, etc. There is still very little ammo in the game (or it's a pain to go collect). I'll bet a drink that in the next patch they nerf the crossbow.

I may stop playing because of this and 3 other notes. The reduction of gold armor, removal of second shotgun, and making enemies stronger. Of course, I don't have a lot of spare time to play so while these changes may sound appealing to people who have the time to devote to a "harder" game, they don't to others of us. To each their own. @T Dub Thank you for clearing that up! That is what I was afraid of. This means only limited playthroughs if the loot no longer respawns. There are some rare resources like rope and others in the game. Every time you pick up batteries, Meds, Energy bars, energy drinks. etc.... and they fall through the map when your inventory is full will be lost forever unless you use cheats. I personally don't like going down that path.

​@@lhoanii yeah the removal of the 2nd shotgun is really lame. Now you have to share with virginia? The crates don't bother me so much as those are usually just tape and shit like that. But after awhile won't you just run out of that stuff? Then what the hell are you supposed to do? Especially post game where you are just building bases and messing around. The only other way I know to get that stuff is when enemies drop the skin pouch. I think they will change that back as well as put back the 2nd shotgun or at least another type of gun that virginia can equip.

Demons alrdy hard before update as single player especially when 4+ demons attack you & all you got is a sometimes working cross.
