Werner Ag, established in 1960, is a family farm operation based in rural Hanna, IN. The KZbin channel and social media pages are run by Keith Werner, the third generation of Werner Ag.
Werner Ag raises Corn, Soybeans, Winter Wheat and Cereal Rye Cover Crop Seed. Do you damage a little bit of corn when you run over the row with the tractor ?

Depending on the height of the corn yes

Most farmers plan on end rows not doing very good if they will have to do any turning on them anyways but yeah it can hurt crops.

Do you plant any corn on corn under your pivots or are they in a strict corn-soybean rotation?

We do a lot of corn on corn mainly because our corn yields make a better return under irrigation vs irrigated beans.

Do you have to use a stabilizer when you are putting 28 on top of the ground like that

On all of our dryland we ran a stabilizer but I did leave a couple check strips to see if a stabilizer does pay

Why don’t you use 32% when you sidedress?

This year it was mainly due to us switching to liquid for sidedress so late and us already having 28 in one of the tanks that we prepaid over the winter. Next year we are gonna go all 32 and change up how we do our blends to make the batches easier and the ratios easier.

we always side dress corn with 0-28 liquid nitrogen
