@@Strat10100Yeah, his gameplay and all that is good. Most of his launchers aren't punishable and you don't have to rely on his specials to much. He also has really good mixups, with a overhead and low launcher.(but thats just me, most of the rains I play just utterly mix me but this is the second Mortal Kombat I've played so I'm still an amateur).

@@Strat10100he has 2 combo extender moved that aren’t specials or require EX. Along with along of safe strings & mixups. Even a few unblockable setups.

Couple things coming from a rain main: - down 3 is the better poke for it’s crazy range, I abuse it bcuz most of rain’s strings are mad slow - use the projectile shield in order to “blind” ur opponent to what ur doing. Especially if they’re jumping in or trying to close the gap - portals, portals, portals! Cancel ur strings into portals all the time bcuz it throws ppl off when they’re on the field and they don’t know how to deal with them. If you teleport in their face after doing f2,3 for example they’ll poke you out of it at best and rarely punish hard - you can cancel f3 into a grab for some reason but it works every time - I prefer scorpion as my cameo he lets you convert basically everything into a full dmg combo. although sub is nice for the “unblockable” setup

if you time the setup right with rain you can meaty the forward 3 with and even if they eat the portal, your forward 3 will leave them standing. thats how you know you time it properly. and if they delay wakeup alot you can dash after your charger projectile and timed properly your setup will do the same to their delay wakeup as well.

One thing rain needs a buff on is some of his strings range. For having summonable water and a staff he’s got such limited range. Especially since he’s more of a zoner he can’t do anything without getting in their face
