As a child, on my Grandparents farm, they had heavy tin roofing. So when the RAIN HIT, oh man, that was some sounds. You could sleep for days. I just Loved it.

This is exactly how I remember my childhood days (nights). I used to sleep with this beautiful and comforting sound. It gave me a safety feeling of being inside my family’s home, with my parents and siblings, while I fell asleep with the sound of a torrential rain falling on the zinc roof. God this takes me back to night shift at UPS. Leaving with no one to contact and nowhere to go in a hurry, dark and usually raining or freezing cold. Just sitting in the car in the parking lot as the rain and chill of the air soaked into my mind, lamenting a time a feeling of both eeriness and total serenity. I almost miss those days.
