⚠️ 𝗗𝗜𝗗 𝗔𝗡 𝗔𝗗 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗬 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗜𝗗𝗗𝗟𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗩𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗢? If so, I'm sorry that happened. I know it's awful to be startled by a mid-roll ad. I have them disabled on all of my content, but KZbin has a confirmed bug that causes them to play for some viewers anyway. It's not just my channel - this has been a problem across the entire platform since at least mid-2022. KZbin's engineers know about the bug and what causes it to happen, but unfortunately, they have not provided any information about when (or if) they will fix it. The bug tends to manifest as a 30-second mid-roll ad played around the 6-hour mark, and it disproportionately affects iPhone and iPad users. I have been investigating this for a very long time, and I go into more detail about my findings here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJXIhomdj7KbZ7s If you are affected by the bug but still want to access my content, I recommend that you view this video's description and try one of the alternatives I have provided, such as Spotify or Odysee. If you want to stay on KZbin, you'll find that I have live stream versions of my most popular content, and they tend to be safe from the bug - but not always. The only guaranteed way to never get ads on KZbin is to subscribe to KZbin Premium, which I understand is not an option for everyone. As it turns out, the reason I have the luxury of disabling ads everywhere KZbin will let me is because my channel makes the vast majority of its revenue from KZbin Premium. I have reviewed my analytics data and it appears that KZbin does not compensate me for the mid-roll ads in question, which I suspect is because their systems cannot reconcile the fact that a mid-roll ad played even though I have them disabled. You are welcome to reply to this comment with information about what happened to you, but at this point, we have a pretty solid understanding of what's going on and are just hoping it will be fixed. Historically, it helped when viewers would list what type of device they were on, which app or browser was being used, the approximate timestamp of when the ad played, and what company/product/service the ad was for. I appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter, and I'm sorry there isn't more I can do.

An ad about either toilet paper or paper towels played for me at the 6-hour mark. It was no more than a 15-second ad, but still startling none the less. I’m using the KZbin app on my iPhone. Thanks for trying to fix the issue!

@@alexandra.444 Thanks for the report, and for being understanding about it. I spoke with my contact at KZbin Partner Support about this again the other day and they said maybe we'd see something by the end of the year, but... I mean they didn't come right out and say it, but this clearly isn't a priority over there.

Listening to your colour noises has become part of my 5 month olds bed time routine. He falls asleep very easily and it helps him relax. KZbin premium really helps if you want no interruptions. Thank you DJ.❤

awe that’s my favorite the back porch rain and this one is even better, I’m still sad I get that durn ad, I haven’t tried it out again to see if Utube stopped doing that with Apple products,😢I’m gonna try Rumble again and hopefully don’t get an ad.

It's up on Rumble as well, so you can always give it a try there. I also plan to run a live stream of this one starting in a few days, so you'll have options. 🙂 I suspect that if you've gotten at least one mid-roll ad, you will get more, and they won't stop. It seems that with this bug, if your number is up, that's it and there's no going back. I'm very disappointed that it took so long for KZbin's engineers to acknowledge the problem exists, and even more disappointed that they have expressed no sense of urgency to fix it. Behind demonetization, it's the worst thing I've had to deal with on this platform.

Omg we were so good.. all the way up until like half way.. then I got an add. It was already morning for me though and I needed to get up anyways. So I guess it's okay. lol But it definitely woke me up with a good startle.

Yeah, the mid-roll ads KZbin puts in there totally against my wishes provide awful jump-scares to those affected. I've been begging them to fix it for over 2 years now, but they don't seem to care and there's nothing I can do about it that I haven't already tried. 🫤

It does. That's been the biggest thorn in my side about my entire experience as a KZbinr so far. 😑 Definitely check out some of the alternatives if you can't swing KZbin Premium right now, because if it happens to you once, it will probably happen again. Sorry.

I'm glad you've only gotten a mid-roll ad one time, but unfortunately, the fact that you've gotten one means you'll probably get more. I would advise you to look at the alternative platforms I have listed in the video description. Odysee seems to be the safest place right now.

@DJGrossman - While it sounds excellent on my tablet, it sounds different on my TV. I was hoping it would sound just as smooth. Unfortunately, it doesn't. Sounds sketchy if that makes any sense. I guess because they have different types of speakers. That's how I usually listen to your stuff though, is on my TV. Well, I do think it's cool how you merged them though. 😊

@@Star4Ever777 Your TV probably has better speakers. When I craft noise, "deep" doesn't imply "smooth" - I consider those to be two different things. So deep green noise will have more of the grit because I haven't filtered it out. Makes perfect sense that you'd hear it, especially if you've got a discerning ear. I take it you'd like to hear the rain paired with the bass-boosted orange noise, instead? I have several other bass-boosted smooth colors, if you haven't explored them all yet. I think they're in the "specially modified noise" playlist.

@DJGrossman - I've actually listened to many of your noises of color...if you will, because I find them all so interesting, and this was many months ago. I'll check them out again, though, tomorrow. Oh, and yes, the last posting of your orange one, paired with the rain, seems like it would be nice, but please, don't give yourself any more work than you already have. 🙂 Plus, the green paired with the rain, sounds really nice!
