With a solid educational foundation, including an undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley in climatology and physical geography, along with postgraduate work at San Francisco State in atmospheric science, I am also a proud Certified Broadcast Meteorologist recognized by the American Meteorological Society.
Having grown up in Paradise-the town that faced the heart-wrenching reality of wildfires-I’ve developed a personal connection to the landscape and weather patterns of Northern California. As a fifth-generation Northern Californian with pioneer ancestry, my love for this state runs deep. For over 45 years, I've surfed the stunning California coastline, from Santa Cruz to Ocean Beach, gaining an intricate understanding of how the ocean influences our weather.
But that’s not all-I’m also an avid outdoorsman who enjoys fishing, mountain biking, skiing, and snowboarding. My passion for California's natural beauty and the outdoors enriches my approach to meteorology.
On this channel, I aim to break down complex weather patterns into easy-to-understand insights that empower you to grasp what’s happening in our vibrant California climate. The rain was really loud in RP. Flooding in the usual places (west). Thanks for the Mt. Shasta shots. It has always been important in my family growing up.

Love your broadcast, been watching you forever! I remember back in the day when you weather guys would put the satellite of the world, and it would show the weather patterns (swirls and storms live). I wonder if you could show it in your broadcast? It would be amazing to see some visuals storms brewing up. It would bring back old times. Thanks and Great Work, from a 60 year old local surf rat :)

The wind in South Lake was nutz. Started around 2:30-3am and was pretty gusty till 10-11 am. Lots if rain at 6200ft no snow. Sierra At Tahoe heavy sticky stuff but ok skiing. Monday/Tuesday next week will be the best Christmas/ Newyrs skiing days for snow conditions.

Yeah, we got 2.2 inches up here in 24 hours. I found that Cal. Nev. River forecast site while checking out links on NWS. Watching the creeks and rivers levels. They have forecast levels too. Laguna de Santa Rosa at Stony point is forecast to just about hit Moderate stage. Mark West creek is at Monitor just below Minor stage. The Russian at Hopland has reached minor stage. But, rain ended about 5am so things will go back down some.

Just saw we are in a Flood warning here in Central Sonoma county until 2:30 pm.
