Some interesting songs that you selected . Here's some good ones that came to mind for me : Rain , by Dr. John on his City Lights album Rain , by Uriah Heep on Demons & Wizards Rainy Day People by Gordon Lightfoot from Cold on the Shoulder Rain Dance by the Guess Who on So Long Bannatyne Rainy Night in Georgia by Brook Benton . Cheers !!

Enjoyable video and good to see the excellent Toni Childs album get a mention. On the theme of rain in the title, how about 'Morning Rain' by Keef Hartley Band; 'Thunder and Rain' by Graham Parker; 'Always in the Rain' by Dion and finally, Joni Mitchell's 'Rainy Night House'

I don't know the Keef Hartley Band one, but the others a rock-solid examples. Love 'Thunder and Rain'.

Hi David! I loved how around the 3 minute mark you dove into rain as an inspired subject for songwriters, and found myself nodding in full agreement. Love Over Gold is outstanding with the exception of Industrial Disease as you said. That one and Money For Nothing I’m fine with not hearing again, and I consider myself a big fan. ✌️

Money For Nothing is only eclipsed in awfulness by Walk of Life! 😂

I have one Martin Stephenson LP: Gladsome, Humour & Blue. I think it is really good. Dire Straits 👍 I bought that record for Industrial Disease but quickly realized that it is not even close to the best song on the record. Great picks!

You should get to hear this first album 'Boat to Bolivia' Brian, it's better still.

Hey David! I always see Marc Almond albums at record stores and collector shows, but not sure I have ever heard his music. Big fan of 'Love Over Gold'. I need to get on this, but I already have my next 2 episodes plotted out, so maybe later in the week. Cheers!

Hi Steve, How was Uriah Heep? Hopefully good. On reflection, I think Marc Almond has modelled his career on Scott Walker. Use of big orchestral sounds, crooning on occasion, increasingly experimental; an 'artist', not merely a pop singer. He's very good though; never boring.

@@davidatkinson-lifematters4826 Heep are still getting the job done! Mick Box is an ageless wonder! And I got to enjoy it with two great guys! Cheers!

@@alltheworldsastage899 Yeah, Mick Box will go on forever. Before I gave up on Facebook, I used to tune into Mick's regular updates. Funny, genuine guy. UH, the second band I saw live, after buying 'Easy Livin'' on 7" in a second-hand bin. Still love that live album, although the rock 'n roll medley I can do without!

I can do at least three from one album, Darklands by The Jesus & Mary Chain.
@davidatkinson-lifematters48262 ай бұрын
That is indeed a fine source of rainy songs.

You've inspired me so much I'm playing 'Psychocandy' right now. They were so, so different when they started out - great songs buried in noise - but you can't deny the quality.

@@davidatkinson-lifematters4826 Yeah, they were great. 🙂

The Rain song from Led Zeppelin ???

I thought about that one, but a bit too obvious a choice.
