Hello everyone, welcome to SA Today. On 10 January 2024, we will start today's video to show you the rain that fell at Hartbeespoort, Witbank and Blue Horizon Bay in the Eastern Cape Province, which is quite busy with traffic as holidaymakers return home. We drive through Meiringspoort near De Rust. We also show you an elephant herd crossing the road in the Kruger National Park. We show you the drive up to the entrance to OR Tambo International Airport with the Gautrain tracks overhead. From there, we will show you the Moreletta Spruit at Val de Grace in Pretoria and show you more videos from around South Africa.
The weather forecast across South Africa today is as follows:
There are predictions of severe thunderstorms in the southern areas of North West Province (excluding the extreme southwest) and the north-central parts of the Free State Province. These storms are forecasted to bring about heavy rainfall, strong winds, hail, and intense lightning, potentially leading to flooding in various areas. This may result in the closure of certain bridges and roads, posing a risk to individuals' safety. Additionally, there is a potential danger to both informal and formal houses or structures in densely populated urban or rural villages. There are forecasts of severe thunderstorms in various regions, including the northern parts of the North West Province (except for the north-east), Free State Province (except for the eastern and western extremes), the extreme east of the Northern Cape Province, the south-eastern parts of Mpumalanga Province, and the northern parts of KwaZulu-Natal Province. These storms are forecasted to bring heavy rain, strong winds, hail, and intense lightning, which could lead to flooding in certain areas, damage to roofs of informal houses, and structural damage. Anticipate heavy rainfall in certain areas of the eastern half of the Eastern Cape Province, which may lead to flooding in vulnerable settlements, low-lying roads, and bridges. This could also cause temporary interruptions to municipal services.

Also in this video, we show you a buffalo crossing the road in Tswalu Game Reserve, the veldskoen padstal (Farm stall) in the hex river Valley, drive through the Nkomazi Plaza tollgate. Make a stop at the Shell Ultra City in Kimberley and we end the video today driving through Koster in the North West Province of South Africa.

Love this channel, just a suggestion. Maybe dont post videos where the driver is clearly making a video whilst driving. This is incredibly dangerous and puts other road users' lives at risk.

While I do agree that recording a video while driving is dangerous, I do not at all agree with your request. It is everyone's own responsibility to be safe while driving. The creator of this channel is not promoting the recording of videos while driving - they are merely sharing the videos random people share with them. It's all done with good intent. If the driving videos are to be excluded, there would be a lot of footage missing. At most the creator can put a warning at the end to keep safe and not record while driving, but even this is overkill.

I tend to skip drivers videos, they’re boring.

Don't know about the others, but we clamp our camera onto the dashboard like you would with a GPS, making it perfectly safe to drive. Afterwards there's a lot of editing to shorten the video to make it less monotonous. We also add some music to liven it up a bit.
