Winter weather presents its own challenge, especially when it comes to rainwater harvesting. I never run out, when the water is soft...but when it gets firm, I call on my first friends..."Cousins"

thanks for posting this. I have been trying to puzzle out this issue and haven't found much out there about rain catchment systems over a freezing winter. When I bring it up to people they pretty much think I'm crazy. but I'd like to figure out a way.

There aren't many videos of rain water& winter. Very useful for those that rely on off grid water year round . Thank you

Hopefully you will see this , where did you get the water heater and pump?? Also if you had space in there could that run off a battery and solar panels? Like a small pump house diy solar thing? I'm watching every single video I can to learn what to do and not do . Oh yes the chickens will peck that insulation until it's gone so if you are still using that put a tarp over or around the sides to stop them - hopefully lol- I had chickens ,ducks, goats ya know all the professional poopers . One more thing CHECK OUT the home biogas , Bio digesters, they have a set that comes with the bio digester , toilet, and stove . It's great for cabins without plumbing . For @$1,300 you will have a bathroom toilet , free gas to run a 2burner stove and when you empty the system it is great fertilizer. So the savings alone pay for it over and over. Heck I'm sure you could get a heater to go with it as well so the cost of propane and putting in a septic hands down paid for itself a few times over. Anyhow I'm trying to get 100% off grid or have the availability and knowledge to do so . Thank you for the info , much appreciated!!!!!

As a mechanic, axles are rated for much lower than they can actualy handle. I would fill er up to the top. It puts more stress on the axles to have less weight sloshing like crazy than more weight stabilized anyhow. If you're still worried, repack the wheel bearings more frequently.

I know what you mean. I can feel the weight shifting around as I drive. Liquid freight carrier tanks have internal baffles for a reason.
